In any kind of politics where religion or ethnicity is involved, nothing is off the table.

Mohamed Zia Ul-Haq of Pakistan overthrew Zulfika Ali Bhutto in the 70s, had the man killed, and ruled with an iron fist. Then tormented his daughter Benazir from pillar to post.

Ul-Haq died in a plane crash in 1988 or thereabout. Evidence indicates the plane was sabotaged. Till today, nobody knows who did it.

Fast forward several years. Benazir Bhutto herself was killed in a bomb blast. Her husband is president of Pakistan today.

Musical chairs is the name of the game in politics, fueled by ethnic and religious sentiments. Ethnic sentiments are usually stronger because politics is a grassroots game. Your village people or those who you speak the same language are the readily available support base.

Uhuru didn't want Ruto to succeed him , so he worked with Raila the main opposition who is from Luo. Ogola is also from Luo, he played some major role in trying to twarth the victory of president Ruto. Leaked audio tape surfaced

I don't follow Kenya politics.... but learned along the way that the country was really focusing on the development of its people and resources. This is such a good insight into the politics regarding the President and General .... great background info. Going on what you said ... nothing can be ruled out. They were flying to different locations ... how familiar was the pilot with the fatal trip? ... what was the weather conditions? ... was the General again working for the opposition and planning to seize power? ... did the opposition see him as a traitor? ... or a double crosser and wanted him dead? .... did the chopper develop mechanical failure?... ran out of fuel? ... was there an explosion? ... was it shot down? We simply have to wait for the investigation and hear from the survivors. Again... thanks for the peek into Kenya politics.

There is sufficient motive. Military coup in Africa is rampant now, thus guy can't be too trusted by incumbent president; so the tact is bring him closer and set him high for a clear target( promotion to his current rank and insider in the govt ) then send the sniper (malfunctioning helicopter) to take him out

US and even Nigerian presidents have been flying helicopters for years, have you heard about any mishap? It's about quality, professionalism and strict adherence to safety measures. Some cut corners to save a few bucks and it ends up costing them their lives. Read up any air accident report and you will see it is mostly either due to pilot error, maintenance inadequacy or lack of adherence to laid down safety measures. Kobe Bryant would have been alive today if he didn't pressure his helicopter pilot to take off in bad weather, same could be said of the late Herbert Wigwe.

For quads, if any of the rotor members fails, it will also affect the dynamic balancing of the machine. They were designed for thrust in equilibrium.
