This is a welcomed development.

Black people, especially Nigerians need to start thinking of a way out of our collective quagmire by peacefully dividing all black nations made up of too many unfriendly tribes to make it easier to govern ourselves to communal prosperity starting with Nigeria.

Take a look at Europe, every country in Europe is made up of people of the same tribe, and they speak one language showing they are one unique people, which makes it easy to govern and progress. That is why Europe became the first developed continent on earth and that is why they remain the pillar of globalization and whatever you can think of. They didn't lump French people together with Germans and Greeks to form giant of Europe. Most European countries are less than 6 million people yet they are a country of their own.

Same applies to UK that forced us together. why cant we emulate these people than killing ourselves to remain one despite the glaring failure?

This our pretentious desire to be lumped together as one empty big-for-nothing nodowells deceiving ourselves as giant of Africa just because of our greed for mineral resources (crude oil) found in some regions is not helping us.

The time for Nigerians of our time to summon the courage and call it quits is fast approaching and we need to embrace it with peace.

If we are sincere to ourselves, we all know that with how Nigeria is arranged and with the too many unfriendly tribes joined together in Nigeria as one nation, Nigeria will never work to become a developed safe nation like most of us desire, so why are we deceiving ourselves just because we are scared to be on our own without free crude oil money to loot and share?

Crude oil is more of a curse in Africa than a Blessing. A lot of countries are excelling without crude oil money, let's stop being afraid of losing crude oil free money, believe me, if Nigeria divides peacefully, all the smaller countries that will emerge from it will do far better than today's one Nigeria.

I am glad the Yorubas are becoming honest and bold towards seeking for peaceful division of Nigeria, maybe with time, it will become a reality as two major tribes in Nigeria seek for secession at the same time.

Kudos bro,

Africans, esq Nigerians are not thinkers and that is the reason we are stuck backwards and underdeveloped.

I am an unapologetic secessionist myself but many of our people still can see beyond their noses.

Whenever we make a case for yoruba national and ipob, they will say secession is not the solution but good leadership.

They fail to realize that a dead horse will not move even if you whip it for a year.

Even if we get oduduwa Republic, nothing will change. Corruption and greediness will still persist in Yoruba land. Are people like Tinubu, fayoose,Dibu ojerinde,Dapo Abiodun, and all those yahoo boys scattered everywhere not Yorubas?

The only solution to our problem is a violent revolution after which the country will then reverts back to regional Federalism.

The best system of govt that is best for Nigeria is the UK type of system where the four home nations of Wales, England north Ireland and Scotland are economically independent but are politically answerable to the seat of power in London. That's how Nigerian shud be run. D major ethnic groups shud hv been independent home nations under d control of a parliamentary voted prime Minister.

Nigeria needs unbundling. I support Yoruba Nation inside a parliamentary run Nigeria

Bro,

Assuming your assertion is true that corruption will still continue within yoruba nation if yoruba secedes, is that an excuse to remain in nigeria? Are we all (yoruba, housa, igbo etc) better of in this poverty capital of the world and the fantastically corruption country called Nigeria?.

Let's be analytical as Youths, we are the hope of African.

I give you my word that, if yoruba and igbos leave nigerian, corruption within the newly formed yoruba nation and Biafra will be reduced to the barest minimum.

Why? Because these nations will go through a rebirth, a Renaissance and the people will develop a refreshed spirit of patriotism.

Because the newly formed countries are homogeneous, the people of these newly formed nations will see the country as their personal project.

Corrupt leadership will be eroded because the people will criticise and hold them accountable without tribal/ethnical bias (since the people of the nation are on one and the same tribe)

All the world powers are very homogeneous countries, with the exception of the US.

Let Nigerians wake up!

There is nothing wrong with this body of Yoruba Nation agitators (led by Professor Banji Akintoye) asking for a Nigeria-exit negotiations if;

It is true the 100 year amalgamation of Northern and Southern regions of the lands ended in 2014.
The constitution of Nigeria allows for peaceful self determination of the indigenous peoples.
The actual majority of the Yorubas (through a referendum) will like to dissociate from the Nigeria entity and govern themselves in their own new country.
The union is not working to favour ALL tribes.
The United Nations Charter and African Union Charter allows for self determination of indigenous peoples.
The Yoruba country existed (with their own functional system of governance) long before the British and their forceful amalgamation to the benefits of the British; and they probably only want to return to their historic identity.
The Yoruba people believe there a Nigerian president who is a democrat and that can listen to their demands and negotiate terms of possible exit while being supervised by foreign observers.

See how he added yoru in other states and no one is talking, but if it was biafra that added igbo in other state, you'll see erectus screeming land grabing.

Are the Yoruba people in the 'other states' denying their relationship with the main Yoruba Region?

Okuns, itshekiri, etc, know their origin and history.

See , am less concerned on whatever is happening in Nigeria..
If you think war is the only war out fine for you but remember the innocent people who will be wasted because of someone stupid mistakes..

It's not a case of believing that war is the only solution to our predicament however, just take a curious look at that section of yhe country, killing everyone else in the country with reckless abandon with no recourse to justice.

They are the true owners of Nigeria and they have got the whoke flippin country by the bal.l$. They are the kingmakers in Nigeria. Anyone who is serious about leading the country will have to kiss the fulanis' behind or else, nothing for you be that. They have been at the helms of our political power since independence and have gradually & meticulously managed and consolidate their hold on power till date.

Do you think these guys from the sahel will even entertain any notion that may change the status quo? Any proposition that may knock them off their perch, is an absolute no, no. I make bold to predict that these guys would rather burn the whole country down than to shift their position, one bit.

That's not the issue. Those who reject any relationship with biafra did it by themselves. The Yorubas outside Western Region or now Southwest have never denied their identity.

Ikwerre will deny any affiliation to igbo nation. It is not the same for Yoruba people till even Togo or Benin Republic.

Let southern Nigeria unite and take a stand. We will then weild enough power to confront the so called fulani power.

For me, the southern stand is what the yoruba nation and ipob represent. This secessionist agitations are an opportunity we southerners should never sleep on.

And I hate it when southerners make it sound as if we are slaves under the rulership of the northern fulani.

Southern Nigerians should address this arise and confront the northern seeming dominate once and for all.

We are even more enlightened than these people

Come to think of it, if this country is to break up, into how many countries will it break into ?

Left to me though, I will love to see the SW, SE and SS come together as one and then secede from the union to form a new country. That would be something nice to see. If that isn't going to be possible then, everyone to his tent.....

I see progress in the actualisation of Yoruba nation and this is the only modern approach to sovereignity and progress of the whole Nigeria. Alot of people knows that their is no solution to the enormous problem facing the country until the main and origin is being fixed. I have portray this view that their is no solution in the so called democracy that we are currently practicing is Nigeria because we are people of different backgrounds and heritage forcefully brought together without our concept. We must peacefully obtain freedom through referendum and most especially I urge my fellow brother from the east to join hand with the west and speak with one loud voice of getting their individual sovereignty from Nigeria peacefully not militarily. Then no one can stop the voice once it's loud. It's only the greedy politicians that is interested in one Nigeria due to the oil money from Niger- delta. We the citizens are tired. We want our own sovereign nations.

What you're advocating for is ideal but won't happen.

If you really want sovereignty you have to be willing to fight and die for it.

The west in collaboration with the criminals calling themselves Nigerian leaders will never allow it.

So yes, you either remain a slave to the fantastically corrupt elite or stand up for your right and fight if you have to.

Unfortunately people like you will say a living dog is better than a dead lion, then continue to pray to God for a miracle.

Nigerians are not ready.

I hate reading that the separation of Nigeria is non negotiable. Everybody have witness how the north is running this country as their family affair at the expense of South who produces what is keeping them. I think it is time to separate this country into diff. countries.

Hehehe! The glaring reality of this failed contraption called a country is becoming more clearer to everyone. The fundamental problem remains that Nigeria is a geographical contraption of diverse ethnic nationalities that are not ready to unite and function as one.

Nigeria is a failed entity because different irreconcilable worldviews of its ethnic multinationals especially with those who thinks it's their only inalienable right to conquer its as their fiefdom via ethno-religious supremacist dominance. Even Tinubu never believed in One Nigeria and yet his foolish supporters are quick to label critics as emergency lovers of Nigeria.

It's really very amusing to see the same thing that tinibu and his gang of bigots used in deceiving the north to rig out Obi is now the same succession threat that's now coming from his own region.
