That’s a good one!

Responsible student should be expelled, remanded and sent to juvenile detention centers.

Anything short of these only encourages bullying.

Student need to know there are severe consequences for every crime they commit.

As for the parents of those bullies, they should be jailed for 1 year for raising thugs, and still having the audacity to enroll them in public spaces where sane students abound.

As for the students watching while their colleague was being bullied, each should be allocated one acre of grassland to cut and cleanup, for aiding and abetting.

This case falls under the purview of the Ministry of Education. Bullying is classified under gross misconduct

This overzealous one waits for any trending news to hop on for relevance even when it isn't directly under her ministry's purview.

Cluelessness at its best.

I love this.
Yesterday I read that the Chinese supermarket in Abuja that doesn’t allow Nigerians in was shut down, today I’m reading this.
That the Women affairs minister visits Lead international school after bullying video.
This is how government parastatals should react to news like this, let them know there’s a government in charge of this country.

With all due respect that woman has no right to be there, this is an issue that is to be handled by the department of education in Abuja, not even a federal issue, but to chase clout and look like she is doing something she had to be involved. That aside, what happens to those who bullied Alex Iwobi during the AFCON ? Abi we don’t term that bullying ?
The fact is the a large percentage of Nigerian are bully’s, even on this bloody platform we have a huge multitude of bullies or you think it’s when you beat a person that you are termed a bully ?
Bullying is in our blood and we must first remove the log of wood in our eyes first before removing the spec in another persons eye.

Who will deliver Nigerians from all political bullies? Are Nigerian politicians not the greatest bullies in the world.

Shameless thieves who know nothing about governance but through bully practices became political leaders by crook.

Why close down the school for 3days?

You foolishly disperse those who would provide the witness statements.

Is the school facility unsafe to have merited a temporary shut down?

We behave without logic in this part of the world.

Who send this one tongue, she won't visit federal government colleges where bullying, beating and cultism thrives.
Nonsense trip over teenagers fighting over boyfriend. The management should expel culprits let's rest Abeg.

Wicked Wike is the one that's suppose to go there because primary and secondary school is regulated by the states.
Trust Wike not to go around there shocked. Police can't come in because na children case, expel the culprits students

Till date Schools like Dowen College , Premiere Academy where Sylvester Oromoni and Keren-Happuch were killed by their fellow students are still running and admitting more students Even their alleged Killers have been set free !

Undisciplined children can disrupt the learning environment for others. Their disruptive behavior, whether talking out of turn, not following directions, or disrespecting classmates, can make it difficult for others to focus and participate in class. This creates an uneven playing field where some students struggle to learn due to the constant distractions.

Shouldn't the visit have been made by the Minister of Education? Anyways, its good that the matter is receiving the attention it deserves. Bullying is an inexcusable act.

Problem is, schools ain't got no bullying programme here in Nigeria.

Bullying is a serious issue in Nigerian schools. Yet, ask a school what they do to stop bullying...and the answer is zero. Honest truth is that many schools react after things go wrong.

At least in the USA, they have 'anti-bullying programmes'...which arose because there were too many bad incidents. I hope we don't end up with something like a child commiting a mass act of violence before we wake up to the reality.

Yeah, it is the purview of the MInistry of Education really, not women's affairs (unless it was a female teacher being dismissed unfairly, and even then Labour ministry would also join in).

Eye service. The rich and elite always have the ears of the government. Come to ORISUN GRAMMER SCHOOL, here in APETE, IBADAN, the students fight always and nobody cares. No blogger, even the police guarding privileged students at nearby Life-forth international school (another elite school) doesn't look their way

This is somewhat oxymoronic... someone that's responsible should be punished
What's to happen to an irresponsible person 😊

Its rich people's school, nothing will happen, the noise will soon die down.
The teachers allowed them to do anyhow because any attempt to discipline them will land them in sack and no teachers in such high paying private schools wants to lose their jobs in this harsh economy

Beautiful... This is what I like to read!

Kudos to the honorable minister for showing leadership and acting quickly.

Proper punishment must be doled out to the bullies...! That 'evil' spirit of bullying must be uprooted from their ill-bred hearts.

I just checked to see who is the minister of education and the commissioner for education in FCT and found out that you are right. Till thy kingdom come, they may not issue any statement regarding the issue. Since Wike came on board as FCT Minister , I started wondering what Buhari's FCT Minister did for 8 years. Some people are just too docile. That former FCT minister is one. Typical of Buhari kind of person.
