You guys really need to learn history, that was because there were not states at the time in Nigeria, Abia, Anambra and almost all the south eastern states were all called the south east region, there were no states initially, Lagos was already existing as capital in Nigeria since 1914 it was not a state yet because there were no states, they just called each region as regional names like old eastrn region and so on, if not why did the FG build Lagos airport in Ikeja and still called it Lagos as at 1939 because all those parts were Lagos already.

It is like saying Onitsha in Anambra was not part of Anambra because Anambra was not existing as a state in 1939....
It was not a state but a tiny location nonetheless. With the creation of the state, most of what we call Lagos today was carved out of the western region. The regions were the province or states back then.

As per the airport. It was built in western region and not called Lagos airport. Infact the British described it as a run way North of Lagos.

Same argument can be made for the seaports and other critical infrastructure. Dumb ass folks everywhere

Where they are heading to is that they developed Lagos and not the FG, then you look at all the critical infrastructure majority was done by the FG even after leaving there 30plus years ago

They are always trying to twist the narrative that they developed Lagos so that they can feel entitled to Lagos and disclaim any input by other tribes and the FG for what Lagos is today and also use the same narrative to oppress other tribes...

North of Lagos.

North of Lagos meaning the airport was not in Lagos colony or Lagos city as the tiny area called capital was known back then..

Damn, even though I never supported this current administration, what is so hard in comprehending that the whole part of lagos now existed which everyone will agree with me, but lagos colony as at that time was different from lagos as capital. Tribalistic bigots are the worst thing any country should pray for.

Ikeja was different from Lagos prior to 1967. How is this hard to comprehend?

Ikeja only became part of Lagos in 1967.

You have not been able to prove that, why was Ikeja airport built as Lagos airport in 1939 by the federal government?

Your argument seems credible at first glance but here you are asking foolish question even with overwhelming proof the other guy provided. It is now time to shut up except you have a superior claim.

As it stand the guy prove Ikeja Airport was built in old Western region n not the Lagos capital like you compare to Abuja n FCT.

There were no states in Nigeria at the time it was built, but the location was called Lagos, that was why the name was called Lagos airport, if it was not in Lagos why did they name it Lagos airport?

What exactly is wrong with you people and propaganda? Name the entire bridges in Lagos and mention anyone that was not built by the Federal govt excluding Ajah, Agege and Cele bridge??from the 2 Airports, to the entire expressways to the Seaports, oil facilities around Apapa, Federal infrastructure all over the state.
