This incident is mostly common among the commuter buses on that route. Once they have a breakdown they will leave you at your own mercy. They don't have human sympathy at all. |

theredaddy: Evidently, you didn't story the story as it unfolded. The vehicle was enroute Ilorin. It broke down in Ogbomosho. The driver went to find a mechanic or something like that. He was sha not around. The man started having a seizure. Everybody in the vehicle moved away from him, some even boarded another vehicle and left him to die. A kind Samaritan lady tweeted several times on Twitter, raising awareness. People tagged frsc and policemen. They didn't respond. This whole debacle went on for over 4 hours. They even called the man's children, but he passed on before they came. It is unfortunate that frsc couldn't use their vehicle to take the man to thee nearest hospital. I go to Ilorin very often, and I can tell you for free that frsc officials are usually littered along that route, waiting for innocent motorists to extort. Police, frsc and ambulance services all have a hand in that man's death. It is pathetic. Frsc wouldn't have ignored him if the man was a politician, or a politician's son. 1 Like |

thatigboman:Bro!!! Even if it's to use their vehicle to take the man to the nearest hospital, we'd say they tried. But the useless thieving bunch folded their hands for hours until the man passed on. It's very very unfortunate. 1 Like |

The state’s Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Stephen Dawulung, who confirmed the incident during a telephone chat with our correspondent on Wednesday, said, “We are aware of the incident because our attention was drawn to it. But since it relates to health issues; it is not in our jurisdiction. We only handle the issue of crashes.”Just imagine the reckless utterances from a sector commander, I think he should be demoted and posted away from the location if the only sort of help from him and his men is for when crashes occur and not save lives |
