A president's responsibility is firstly to the welfare of his people and thus when he/she is about to implement policies,he/she must put that in mind first.the subsidy and other policies from this guys administration is turning out to be disastrous and he should know that Nigerias financial irresponsibility is because the style (presidential) of government that we are running is humongously inappropriate. And let me state is that Nigeria is too poor to run a full blast capitalist economy and that's exactly what this dunce of a president is doing,he is leaving every social responsibility of the government in the hands of money hungry capitalist and forgetting that the economy is dead and that we have more poor people than middle class people, Nigeria government needs understand that things like education, energy and health needs to remain subsidized for a while if not even forever or at least until when we can bridge the gap between the very poor and middle class in nigeria,i laugh when said he wants nigerians to have a credit score style system and that was when i knew that this dunce of a president is far removed from reality.nigeria is not u.s.a,china,japan,korea or even the reach countries of europe but if you research well, most of those countries still subsidize education, health care and energy and even still provide monthly welfare checks for their poor and vulnerable citizens. This tinubu is a one term president because he has shown that he doesn't know the true extent of things in Nigeria,he will fail in 2027. 3 Likes |

Tinubu and Buhari all called subsidy a fraud and non-existence some years ago I wonder how subsidy suddenly became real and you removed subsidy without well-thought-out plans to cushion its adverse effects on Nigerians.Till now workers are receiving the same salaries as before, palliatives that were rolled out were total sham and deception. 1 Like |

Nigerian journalists! Tinubu equally noted that the fuel subsidy removal brought about accountability, transparency, and physical discipline for the country. He obviously said fiscal not physical! |

Racoon: Quite true. And does this economic illiterate understands the ripple effects of the financial crisis fuel subsidy removal have caused? Person wey said "Nah statistics we go chop."? Balabloo-blu-bulava talk of a tinubulation voodoo economy. But essentially since he is paying the subsidy via the back door, that means the economic issues should resolve, by your reasoning. You really don't want the subsidy gone, do you.? Subsidy has to go. 1 Like 1 Share |

Jokerman: Because Nigerian politicans are ready to sacrifice the economy if it means they can get into power. 2012 was the best time we could have removed subsidy and paid some palliative to ride over the storm...but Nigerians , most of them, and tinubu and buhari said no. Here we are, and even then tinubu hasn't quite removed subsidy totally |

ignis: Partial subisidy removal has happened several times since the 1970's. Every now and then, government removes the subsidy partially, which manifests as increase in prices. IN 2012, fuel cost N97, landing cost was 99 naira. Had we kept fuel at N97, cost of subsidsing one liter of fuel would have gone up from N2 to N998 and above per liter.Ye can guess the effect on the budget. |

Rouges and cowards. Rather than address the corruption and ineptitude issues that have made subsidy unsustainable, you chose to shift the burden to the masses. |

Afart from fuel subsidy removal (major cause of Nigerian suffering ), the poverty stricken masses are made to bear the burden of 70 percent cost of epileptic electricity supply. There is perversive sense of insecurity due to inability of government to protect lives and properties particularly in the North West region. If Government can provide stable Electricity and fully protect lives and properties of Nigerian. Then who cares with implications of fuel subsidy removal. But the policy has plunged the masses in unprecedented hardship in the history of the country. This hardship surpasses suffering Nigerians will go through of the country is bankrupt. |
