One cannot ban generator importation totally, even in the USA, where there is light all the time generators exist and are sold

The reason being

1.IN times of natural disasters, power lines may come down and it may take weeks to put them back up. Generator needed

2. Some work needs to be done requiring electiricity, but the location is miles away from the nearest power line...generator needed.

still the Megawatt is not up to 5000 MW we need 45000 MW for stable ectricity supply

Everything is now done with a laptop.... Those days without laptop..we were having stable power o..

Federal government should sell its power assets to states, private sector or make it a PPP. Tinubu has already signed the power bill, allowing states to handle the three sections of the electricity industry.

States should start generating, transmitting and distributing power. How long do we have to continue with this madness called national grid to admit that it's not working? Every day it keeps collapsing like it's epileptic.

The National Grid is a failed project.

I suggest a state and regional grid. Nigeria already has 15,000 MW. If these plans are sold to the state, there is a better chance that they can meet 90% of the generation capacity.

This is another great legacy of the PDP govt in terms of PPP. APC as a party is yet to start 1 pwr generating plant after 9 years of being in power.

Nigeria also has a lot of off grid solutions. Besides, what this shows is the falsehood of Nigeria needing $10bn for 10 years to get power right. Zungeru dam costs just $1.3bn at 650MW. Ten of such will give us power that will meet all our needs and that's just $10.3bn and anyone who knows anything about power knows that generation is the most expensive aspect of power supply. So how do you justify the $100bn claim?
