Zooposki:
It was because of Tinubu they reopened the case. Tinubu fraudulently gave it back to the oil companies. Tinubu is just damn too corrupt.

I doubt that tinubu had anything to do with the reopening of the case. The case has never been closed to begin with.

The case happened in 2012, when Buhari was not in government, and when he was out of government...so unless Buhari was running things in 2010-15, nothing for him

And the same Shell did not commit fraud during Buhari’s regime?

Seriously, you and your agbado friends, stop defending your masters. Both sides have wrecked their corruptuon havoc on this country long enough.

This is nonsense. It is a calculated attempt to stop the impending production of crude oil from OPL 245.

This case has dragged in for about 20 years now without any solution. Now that Mr. President has decided to end all legal cases and start production from the oil well, these holier than congressmen who have never shown interest in the case before are now trying to scuttle the progress that has been made. I can bet they are acting for some shadowy interest after collecting hefty bribes. If they had any evidence against Shell and Eni, they should have presented same when the case was on trial in Italy.

Hopefully, Mr. President and Eni won’t be distracted by this sponsored distraction. Nigeria seriously need to raise crude oil production and OPL 245 is one of the oil wells we are looking at to add about 45k bpd to our daily output.

The case is good while the timing is suspicious. It looks like a threat to the Nigerian government considering Nigeria, Ghana and co asked to withdraw gold deposits from the United States.

Lots of countries are relying on gold in expectation of the fall of the dollar due to Brics attach on the dollar.

Attacking a past president with ties to the present ruling party is a way of putting pressure on the country. I expect more to come.

However, if oga Jona has clean hands, he's got nothing to worry about

BUT he came on TV and told us stealing is NOT Corruption. That should have been a clue that the clueless one was faking cluelessness and was a BIG THIEF!

So if you are asked to define corruption, you will say "Stealing is corruption". Bros Corruption is bigger than stealing, it is much more than just stealing. Corruption is perversion of every know moral values and standards. Nepotism, tribalism, stealing, fraud, propaganda, etc are all corruption manifesting itself in many different ways.

That’s the problems with us Nigerians. Exactly the reason subversive governments keep riding on our uninformed backs and stealing is blind. Instead of you to tackle the present clueless present administration without making light of the allegations against the GEJ administration. You will get sense one day.

From the write up, OBJ and his vice were mentioned before GEJ but in the heading only GEJ is being reflected, the usual subtle antics of the media.

All are innocent until proven guilty by the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

The ongoing saga surrounding OPL 245 exemplifies the deep-seated issue of corruption that has plagued Nigeria for decades. From the questionable awarding of the oil block during the Abacha era to the murky dealings involving Shell, Eni, and various Nigerian officials, it's a stark reminder of the need to tackle corruption at all levels of government.

The case underscores how corruption corrodes the very fabric of governance, distorting decisions, and diverting resources away from the public good. It's evident that the pursuit of personal gain has often trumped the interests of the Nigerian people, as demonstrated by allegations of bribes and kickbacks in the OPL 245 deal.

Furthermore, the involvement of foreign legal proceedings, particularly those from Italy, raises complex questions about sovereignty and national dignity. While it's crucial to address corruption and uphold the rule of law, the manner in which foreign prosecutions are conducted can sometimes come across as paternalistic and condescending. It exposes our vulnerabilities and shortcomings on the global stage, reinforcing stereotypes and undermining our autonomy as a nation.

However, amidst these challenges, there lies an opportunity for introspection and reform. The call for accountability should not be seen as an imposition from external forces but rather as an imperative for national progress. It's imperative that we take decisive action to root out corruption, from the highest echelons of power to the grassroots level.

This requires robust institutions, transparent processes, and a commitment to the principles of integrity and ethics. It also necessitates a shift in mindset, where public officials prioritize the common good over personal enrichment and where citizens demand transparency and accountability from their leaders.

Ultimately, the resolution of the OPL 245 saga should serve as a catalyst for broader reforms aimed at building a more just, equitable, and prosperous Nigeria. By confronting corruption head-on and strengthening our institutions, we can lay the foundation for a brighter future for generations to come.

I don't see your point here. Don't blame the US or western countries if their justice system is more reliable and credible than this nonsense we have in Nigeria. Blame your own people for not being able to unravel the mess that went down with this oil block. No one , not a single soul have been brought to justice.

Let the US handle the case and we will soon see the yansh of all those who were involved.
