The Aleto-Ogale-Ebubu-Eteo Road, also known as Old Bori Road, in Eleme Local Government Area was recently inaugurated by Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara. During the event, Governor Fubara addressed the challenges inherited from his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, which included outstanding debts from projects amounting to billions. In an effort to promote transparency, Governor Fubara showcased project costs through white papers and emphasized the importance of settling outstanding payments to contractors. Despite initial hesitation, he expressed his willingness to address these issues. The Aleto-Ogale-Ebubu-Eteo Road, awarded to CCCC in August 2023, serves as a bypass to improve travel along the Eleme axis of the East-West Road. Governor Fubara highlighted the project's significance in supporting the Federal Government's infrastructure goals and reiterated his administration's commitment to public welfare. He pledged to initiate more infrastructural developments in the area, acknowledging the support of the Eleme community during the project. Governor Fubara also praised Governor Alex Otti of Abia State for his integrity and impactful governance style. Addressing comparisons to his predecessor's tenure, Governor Fubara clarified that his administration's challenges were different and underscored his commitment to good governance and continued support from the federal government. The successful inauguration of the Aleto-Ogale-Ebubu-Eteo Road not only signifies a milestone in infrastructure development but also highlights the complexities of governance and the dedication required to overcome inherited challenges. Governor Fubara's transparency and community engagement set a positive tone for future projects, promising further progress and development for Rivers State.

Throwback: Precisely three years ago the former Governor of Rivers State His Excellency Chief Barr Onyeso Ezenwo Wike set up a panel of inquiry into the administration of his benefactor Rt Hon Rotimi Amaechi. It was a process that came out with a Whitepaper on former Governor Amaechi for embezzling over N500 billion of Rivers State fund. https://gistonline.ng/2024/05/14/rsg-to-set-up-panel-of-inquiry-on-governance-gov-fubara/ 1 Share
