Yes, the Niger-Algeria route is shorter, but with Russia-Niger alliance to stop the Chevron-Nigeria Gas project, this alternative is longer and even more profitable as we will be able to sell gas to more African countries on our route to Europe. It is a win-win. We do not have to deal with the Desert terrorists.

Senegal just opted out of ECOWAS. Let that boy temper with our pipe project and see trouble.

Worse is after tampering with the geological framework and ecosystem in the SE zone through mining and piping away these gas deposits, and gully erosion crops in to the SE states, they will tell Igbos as usual: RETURN TO YOUR EROSION RAVAGED IGBO LANDS. NIGERIA IS A COUNTRY WHERE EVERY REGION CONTROLS THE HERITAGE AND POLITICS OF ITS REGION.

You have been parasiting on proceeds from crude oil in Abia, Imo and Anambra States for ages. Nobody taught you that these three states produce crude oil in abundance. Imo has the largest quantity of natural gas in the Niger delta region. Return to school to learn Geography and History of oil producing areas of the south of Nigeria.

South east has the highest gas reserves in the country. Most times you guys just make statement out of hatred.
If your region want's to breakout from Nigeria, nobody will miss you guys. But let south east just have the thought of breaking out, the whole country will be in serious tension.
That is to show you that Nigeria can't survive without south east oil/gas.

They want to sell Gas to Europe using the North Africa country. They want to be an alternative to Russia in the European Gas market. It is just local politics.

Ibo posters made it about their region when there are gas all over Nigeria. Lagos, Ondo/Ogun (olokola and tongeji island) all have huge Gas Reserves including those from the South south. There are tons of gas offshore Nigeria as well e.g. brass

If Lagos, Ondo and Ogun have gas reserve as you claim then why is the federal government building gas pipeline from Imo State South East to the South West?

My exacts sentiments. We are behaving as if we are still under colonialism, where our main purpose for existence was to supply raw materials to develop European economies.
Why can't we prioritise and promote trade within ourselves? It will help promote development, stability and cooperation between African states.
Africa as a whole has a population of 1.2 billion people, we have all natural resources we have ample land as the second biggest continent in the world.

Gas reserves are all over the southern and even some middle belt basins in Nigeria. In the last 60 years or so, 97% of Nigeria's oil and gas production has been from the south-south region and this has literally fed the entire six regions of Nigeria for the last 6 decades. We've never seen people of the SS screaming blue murder on how SS gas is being sold to Europe or Asia or the Americas; we also never heard people of the SS lamenting the building of NLNG train 1 to 5. Why exactly have you guys insisted on bringing ridicule to the SE with this 'our gas' campaign?

So let's even assume there's gas reserves only in the SE, how exactly can this gas be converted to wealth if pipelines aren't built?
