Ojemedad: Next time do your research first before you start an argument online. 2400 rubles is around $26, how much is Nigeria's minimum wage in dollars? The minimum wage in Russia is over 19k rubles, which is $210, and yet you say a person earning $26 a day for just washing plates is in a stupid country 1 Like |

Paraman:…in this ,we can’t compare our country Nigeria with those developed countries who pay monthly because to me specifically there is job available for one to do in which the pay per hour/day is likely satisfactory to deduct house rent at d month than here in Nigeria that there is no enough or no job at all to do,where a graduate of 5-10years still leaving in his/her parents house just because of no job.even those working, are they paid monthly as expected?so this can’t work here in Nigeria.. |

I still wonder y with the rate of Poverty in Nigeria, students are not encouraged to do jobs to also fund their academics. This System in Nigeria is the foundation of all the hardships students face later on in life after graduation. |

I am with the rep on this one. the problem of housing in Abuja begins with land allocation. People who get the land almost free, build on them and then demand exhorbitant fees. It does not make any sense. Truly, government has to regulate it. How agency/legal fee rose to 20% still amazes me. These people are just thieves. Now every d1ck and Harry is an estate agent. |

lawrenty50:do you realize that with yearly, it keeps you trap for the entire year and the landlord negligence the xtreme cheap houses, or old houses, worn out can still be yearly while the new and expensive houses should be monthly. or better still quarterly, since income isnt stable. |

Cmanforall:Their girlfriends They want to avoid housing a girl for months after they breakup But seriously, monthly rent won't be convenient for tenants because it's just 7 days quit notice that they require and you can eject them or increase rent |
Re: Reps Move To End Annual Rent Payment In Abuja by safariman(m): 2:14pm On May 16 |
Houseontherock1: But most often, the tenants do not vacate because of our court system. Tenants stay in houses for months even after the landlord has asked them to vacate, unless you use rogers to get them out. |
Because the government gave landlords free cement to build houses?
Don't mind them looting the treasury awarding ridiculous salaries and allowances to themselves, fake constituent projects and looting the money do not pained citizen, these are bunch of lazy brains asking for foreign investors to come and invest in their country. After OBJ and Jonathan no government in Nigeria have done anything to encourage foreign investors to the country. They don't know how to do it. They are bunch of educated but lack civility to run a country. I remember Zimbabwe farmers who wanted to bring their investments to Nigeria how they were treated by this same clueless National assembly. Look at the prices of food stuff today, if they were here will this disaster cost of food items happen? These people knows the problems of the country they don't want to solve it for selfish interest, they don't want to deploy army to patrol highways to secure citizen's life because they are scared the army will taste power therefore will want to take power from them. They needed the power to loot and build empire for themselves. |

Me i don't know what we expect when the most brilliant people in class go on to become doctors and professors and the idiots become politicians. Shey they'll use brain that they never had in the first place. We rely on brilliant people in tech, medicine, education and such but we're like... It's okay not to demand any high level of intelligence / integrity to get the job that pretty much decides everyone's fate. Let's just let whomever is corrupt enough to raise campaign funds do it. What could go wrong |

Re: Reps Move To End Annual Rent Payment In Abuja by Houseontherock1: 4:46pm On May 16 |
safariman:The "court system" actually makes it easy for you to eject them, unfortunately many landlords don't take such cases to court because of ignorance. The important thing is to give your yearly tenants the statutory 6 months notice then you can drag their ass to court and get them out and collect rent for the extra time they spend there |
Re: Reps Move To End Annual Rent Payment In Abuja by anonymous1759(m): 4:47pm On May 16 |
Ojemedad: Every country have its ups and down , stop this mentality that only western countries are perfect people still migrate from uk & Canada. There’s no country that’s immune from that . All am saying is that you can have a comfortable life in Russia and some of those countries the west antagonize. what is going on is power play and politics to country the world economy. |
Re: Reps Move To End Annual Rent Payment In Abuja by Ojemedad: 5:00pm On May 16 |
KushLyon: Now let me teach you something, the least studio apartment (one room with kitchen and toilet) is 35k rubles monthly, that’s about 550k naira Nigerias yearly rent for same amount, now you say the minimum wage in Russia is 19k, Russia is rich but it doesn’t equate to the life of the average Russian, they live on loans. Now in terms of availability of jobs, washing of plates and English teaching job is the best you can get, even the Russians are competing for the teaching job. The Tajiks and other foreigners are fighting for the few available jobs left. I don’t say what I’m not sure of, In terms of standard of living Russia is just one step if not same level with Nigeria .
