Very bad behaviour, you were retired and you still retained your official apartment...and locked it for 6 months

Where do you want the others to stay....

We should learn how to respect ourselves

I actually felt pity for him as I was reading through but when it got to the point of him staying two years after he was suppose to have vacated, I just got angry because it shows he was still trying to boss over them when he was suppose to have been out of the place, he also said he was not served notice before the eviction but he later said he called them to hold on for the eviction so he could send to officers down to pack his things, he just kept on contradicting himself.

Don't mind the retired olopaa !!!
Two years after retirement, you are still in Govt property and now crying foul.
He deserved that kind of treatment. Others will learn...

They should have hired an independent logistics movers to pick his load with video recording . . invading and vandalizing is disrespectful to all who have reached and hold that office.

You misunderstood what was said, the plead to allow him send people to evacuate his things was on the phone at that moment the enforcers were about breaking into the house when he got to know, from a neighbour, that they were about to break into the house.

I blame him for locking down a house for two years that others need badly, but there are procedures for eviction even in regular civil space before forced eviction let alone in police force, it seems the NPF violated the procedure for evicting him, and this is bad, even if he wasn't a ranking officer.

Anyway, na family affairs like what many have stated on the thread.

Very irresponsible man.
Even at that level.
He claims he wasnt promoted because of ethinicity but I am sure the IG saw that he was irresponsible.....
For 35years, despite getting to the rank of a commissioner he couldn't build a house.
You are not even ashamed that you were struggling to build a house after retirement and na even cooperative e wan take build am.

I will never promot a man like this even to Commissioner even if he is my brother, not to talk of AIG

Only God knows how he managed the state commands while he was a commissioner....

2 years after retirement you are still struggling with house.

I know police officers who are way below him are not struggling.
My friend who is an SP serving here in Lagos has built a roof over his family in Kaduna and he is currently building his village home.

Because of this type of embarrasment, move out of official quarters 6 months before you retire, not even 6 months after retirement. If not your juniors will mess you up big time. but wait what brought about the issue of promotion here?was that why you refused to move? were you the only one denied promotion? can all your course mates be AIG, DIG or IG? All at the same time?
I hope this was not the same man who was forcefully ejected from his office last time in Abuja?

It is after people retire that they fully understand the rot in Nigeria. His hellish journey has just started. Wish him luck collecting his pension.

He should have made provisions to move weeks before his retirement.

When you retire from service, you are supposed to vacate your official quarters immediately you recieve your reparations funds from your employer.
The reparations fund is paid by government to all retirees under six months after your retirement. The reparations funds are paid according to the distance of where you last served to your home town. In short this money is calculated per kilometres.

Obviously this man had received his reparations funds and refused to vacate the official quarters but maliciously kept the flat looked up for TWO YEARS. By this denying other up coming officers the use of the flat. This is sheer wickedness and the Police authorities were very right to evict his properties to the warehouse.

What a self centred attitude. He should be made to pay for the labour used in evacuation of his property to the warehouse.

Nah, no looting here, na forced eviction from the house

You retired, you relocated but leave your properties in a building you could have vacated six months after retirement .

Na wolf crying things jor

Considering the responses on this thread, it obvious most of those who commented didn't bother to read the news, they only reacted to the headline.

Fixated mindset can't get us anywhere. Make we shun that idea

There is nothing known in law as forced eviction. The proper notices must be served and a court of law will determine the eviction. This is self-help.

Dog eat dog.
Retired but refused to move out in 2yrs
Left valuables in the apartment but living in another place, sounds more like what some stubborn tenants normally alleged
You were not promoted because of your ethnicity
I'm surprised you even got to the post of a VP, you sound more like those that must have punished the innocent while in service probably due to ethnicity, tribe, religion, party, etc
