Dorcas Adeyinka: Group Calls On IGP, Others To Call Muyiwa Adejobi To Order by ChemmyNaija: 6:46am On May 21
A Coalition of women rights and empowerment-based organisation has called on well-meaning Nigerians to call the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, to order over his overbearing interference in an ongoing case involving Dorcas Adeyinka, a UK-based blogger.

The group is calling on well-meaning Nigerians, notably, President Bola Tinubu, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, and several others, to call Adejobi, a crown prince from Orile-Owu, Oyo State, to order and desist from using his office to harass an innocent lady.

The group disclosed that Adejobi is being used by his lady friend, Morounranti Ashabi Fashola, to harass and intimidate Adeyinka.

Recalled that two weeks ago, the Nigeria Police released a Gazette, declaring Dorcas Adeyinka wanted on multiple allegations including cyberstalking, abduction and murder.

The group averred that the Gazette was the machination of ACP Adejobi who must have been manipulated by his lady friend, Morounranti Ashabi, to use his office and closeness to the IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, to carry out the plan.

Morounranti Ashabi, the younger sister of former Lagos State governor and former minister of works and housing, is a very close friend of Abike Jagaban. She was reported to have vowed to use Adejobi to deal with Dorcas for daring to file a petition against Abike Jagaban and her partner.

Shortly before she was declared wanted, Dorcas had filed a case of criminal defamation against two social media users - Tolulope Adeoye aka Abike Jagaban and Tolulope Odegbami aka Olowosibi.

In the court summons dated May 9, 2024, Emmanuel Iyanna of the Chief Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 6, Abuja, had summoned the duo of Abike Jagaban and Tolulope Olowosibi to appear in person before the court on June 4, 2024, to answer the charges leveled against them by the complainant.

In the criminal complaint filed by Pelumi Olajengbesi of Abuja-based law firm, Law Corridor, Dorcas had accused Abike Jagaban and Tolulope Odegbami of sharing her nude photo on social media and ridiculed her.

According to Olajengbesi, “On the 5th of March 2022, Abike Jagaban shared the complainant’s nude pictures on Youtube, directing her followers to different online platfoms where the complainant’s pictures were/are shared and ridiculed the complainant in the process.”

It is pertinent to add that for over three years now, Abike Jagaban and Dorcas who both lead opposing groups in what has come to be known as Facebook Fracas, have been on a war path.

However, Adejobi, feigning ignorance of the release of the Gazette, was said to have informed all who called him to inquire why Dorcas Adeyinka was declared wanted when she has a case in court, that he was unaware of such development.

But somehow, accusing fingers are pointing to his direction as being responsible for the issuance of the Gazette.

The group is now calling on all well-meaning Nigerians to wade in and call Adejobi and his cohorts to order.

In a related development, Dorcas Adeyinka’s counsel, Pelumi lajengbesi, has criticised the Nigeria Police Force for declaring his client wanted over what he termed as “baseless allegations…

In a statement issued by him, he argued that since the matter regarding the allegations is already before a court of law, the police cannot declare someone wanted, especially when there is no risk of the individual fleeing.

The lawyer clarified that Adeyinka has consistently cooperated with the police whenever she was invited, especially concerning the present allegations. He noted that she had sought police assistance after her private images were maliciously circulated online but was instead met with further harassment and attempts to silence her.

Olajengbesi highlighted previous instances where Adeyinka faced unfounded charges, which were later dismissed by the court due to lack of evidence. Despite this, she continues to face undue scrutiny and harassment from the police, he asserted.

Regarding the recent declaration of Adeyinka as wanted by the police, Olajengbesi questioned the necessity of such action, especially when her availability was evident. He suggested either a miscommunication within the police force or unauthorized access to official channels as potential reasons behind the statement.

In conclusion, Olajengbesi affirmed Adeyinka’s commitment to legal processes and stated that they have initiated contact with appropriate channels to arrange her compliance with the investigative process.

“In times like this, we believe the courts will ultimately uphold justice and fairness for all parties involved,” he concluded.

This report is false. Everyone knows Dorcas personality of bullying people. If she’s wanted by the Police, let her report herself and prove her innocence. Stop manipulating people.
