One of the military personnel keeping watch at the popular Banex plaza in the Wuse 2 area of Abuja, has slapped a lady into coma.

Daily Trust reports that the plaza has remained under lock and key four days after thugs beat up some soldiers who had a disagreement with a trader.

Our correspondent had gone to the area to monitor update when soldiers accosted the lady who crossed a barricade at the plaza.

The lady was trekking on the barricaded road when she was stopped by soldiers.

After asking her some questions, one of them slapped her heavily and she collapsed.

Daily Trust correspondent at the scene witnessed how she was rushed into a van which sped off the scene.

It is unclear if she was being taken to the hospital for medical attention.

Meanwhile, traders have been counting their losses over the military action, which they said could have been resolved without the lockdown.

Our correspondent who visited the market on Tuesday afternoon found soldiers across the plaza.

Lamenting the situation, Chibuzor Ike, a phone repairer at the plaza, i said: “I am already counting losses. It doesn’t seem like they will leave anytime soon. We are pleading for the reopening of the place for business.”

Trouble started when thugs beat up some soldiers who had a disagreement with a trader in the plaza.

The trader had reportedly sold a bad phone to someone who invited soldiers. Rather than resolve the issue amicably, the trader reportedly invited thugs who assaulted the uniform men.

They descended on at least two soldiers and another man in mufti. The thugs who broke into groups slapped, kicked and beat up the soldiers.

Although the police stepped in to resolve the situation, soldiers later stormed the plaza, forcing traders to shut down immediately.

Some videos on social media showed soldiers chasing a crowd of people and punishing a few others.

The army has been silent on the action at the plaza as Onyema Nwachukwu has not made an official comment as of the time of filing this report.

What if her husband or brother is a Brigadier general?

That's why you don't have to recruit "repented" terrorists into the army...... except you have plans of feeding them with CASAVA AND AGBADO grin

sad Soldiers are rarely seen or heard of in civilised settings except in cases of national emergency. But here they are more of social bullies or instruments of state terror.

The problem of almost every Nigerian soldier is the Nigerian civilians hence the use of the word "bloody civilian"

Let them go and slap in Borno state and see how far. These are soldiers who abandon thier barracks and flee like wildebeasts running away from a pack of raving mad hyenas whenever they hear rumor that boko haram boys want to turn up.

E reach civilian body now dem dey get muscle. And on what grounds is banex plaza shut down? Which court made that pronouncement? Nigerian army can't engage in lawlessness and still act as agents of maintaining law and order.

If she was slapped and then taken away, how did this reporter confirm that she was in a comatose state?

Assumptions, rumors, and innuendoes, that's all Nigerian journalists are capable of.

angry

That kind of slap is called Factory Reset.

All this fight would have been resolved by less gragra from both parties.

Some people derive joy & pride from slapping a military man during mob action.

If she could enter into that barricade where soldiers are present she can enter into a Lions den just to look for her purse.
For her to enter into the barricade where other men would dare not shows that she get courage even though her courage earned her an hospital admitting resetting slap into coma.
An example of a Strong woman that other women should emulate. She deserve an applause. Wishing her quick recovery. cool

cheesy

You see why I don't blame those guys for beating them. Many soldiers mentality is to oppress other civilian and I hate that mentality. God sparing if any soldier passes his boundary with me and he isn't with gun we would fight like men.

It is actually easy to slap someone into unconsciousness.

A well-timed slap tagetting the nape of the neck will send the recipient into emergency slumber.

They should pour cold water on her she will wake up.

Banex market traders don buy market already so they should be ready for the music.

This rubbish can’t happen in the developed world.
There’s no rule of law in Nigeria. Simply because some thugs beat some men in uniform, you now close an entire shopping complex where law abiding citizens conduct there legal businesses. Nigeria is a shame. What is the function of our elected president. MR President pls call this rascals to other. Let the soldiers go and occupy Sambisa or Zamfara Forest not Banex plaza.
