Making laws and amending laws are one of the duty of assembly members, now according to the judge assembly members has no rights to amend constitution. Corrupt judges everywhere

State House of Assembly members doesn't have such power to amend Nigeria national constitution and any state constitution that is not in consonance with the national constitution will be considered bad abinito..... i.e. bad from beginning to the end.

The judgement is accurate and in accordance with the constitution of the land.

They amended the law to enable them stay on the sit when local govt elections are conducted so that fubara cannot appoint caretaker chairmen

I said that, if their amendments is not consistent with the provisions of the federal constitution of Nigeria on a particular matter, the provisions of the federal constitution of Nigeria will be superior and such state amended laws will be subjected to the Lagoon treatment.

That is exactly what happened in Rivers State today.

Sometimes you wonder what wrong with our politicians. You went to court for tenure elongation as if your tenure is not stipulated in the constitution. Will they be happy if governor or president decides to stay beyond their tenure ?

It's better Wike calm down and talk with Sim if not the embarrassment would be too much, all these guys would be the ones fighting for Sim to win elections in 2027, but the way Sim is going I don't see any candidates beating him in any elections in 2027 and beyond. They have right to amend any law but it must be in tandem with the constitution. Any law that is at variance with the constitution is null an void.. Mind you, it's Nigeria Constitution that created the LGA, not any House of Assembly Law. The Assembly members swear an oath to uphold the constitution of the FRN

Fubara just dey increase the heat from all sides...I'm not surprised. I heard him give an allegory of what you should do if somebody with a gun tries to shoot you but the gun misfires...that the gun misfires is as good as the person killing you already...then he says in that situation if you get the chance you should just finish them off.... grin

He's clearly living up to his what he says he will do in that circumstance cheesy
