The man is tired.

His supporters would turn it to tribal bashing.

Just wait and see it below.

Mad people.

Wole Soyinka won't talk about it. He is so full of himself to assume a god status over Obedients. A man who has refused to criticize the Tinubu government because of tribalism

The next CBN governor should not be bald head.

Since all this bald head people took over CBN, they have been making wrong decisions, they blame everyone and everything except themselves.

On a more serious note, are we going to have it right with their policies? Instead of empowering power and manufacturing sectors, they are business making banks rich.

Paramount01:

You believe when dollar was going up ,but you don't believe when dollar was coming down
the coming down was artificial, it was a forced crash which I said here.

They used borrowed dollars to force the naira value down but unfortunately for them, such cannot last, reason it started going up again.

For dollar to naturally come down, we must export more than we import or curb our dollar usage by cutting down on our petrol import through fixing existing refineries and also praying Dangote's refinery starts real production.

Another issue affecting naira value and dollar scarcity is lack of trust on Tinubu's government by majority of Nigerians based on his initial thoughtless policies that caused Nigeria's economy to take a tumbling fall.

This lack of trust made most rich, middleclass and even average Nigerians to start saving their money in dollars because they don't know what other nonsense policy Tinubu will come up with and make Naira to exchange at 3000 to a dollar, which would make many rich and middleclass people poorer. Dangote cried about this. This saving in dollar further worsened the naira crises as Nigerians now save money in dollars thereby making dollar to be in very high demand against Naira.

And top among those saving money in hard currencies is:

Bola Tinubu and his family
Nyesome Wike
El Rufai
Ganduje
All Incumbent and Ex Governors
All serving and ex lawmakers
etc

...below is the summary of the current problem. Out of the millions of the people posting on nairaland(majority are daft supporters of bad governance anyway), this is the first time I'm reading anything close to what has gone wrong with the current economic issues in Nigeria so far....... Timing.

Those decisions were needed ar point but the timing of both were very poorly thought through. As it is, Nigeria has gone back 20 years in retrogression with the timing of those changes.

otherway:
You go explain tire.

Your boss caused it by removing subsidy and unifying exchange rate at the same time.

That arrogant mistake by Tinubu has caused an irreversible damage to his tenure.

So blame Emperor Tinubu the drug sniffing election rigger, certificate forger and impostor.

Nigeria's inflation rate is now at 33.69% as at April 2024 - the highest in 28years since Mar 1996. Since the turn of the new year, the naira, which was floated almost a year ago has witnessed a dramatic depreciation, leaving a devastating mark on organised businesses across the board.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) low net FX reserves and the defense of the naira sparked risk-off sentiments amongst foreign investors and limited inflows from Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) with multi- national companies leaving Nigeria in droves.

The current FPIs and even the local ones are in serious fix. Imagine investing when exchange rate was N700/1$per and you now want to divest back to dollars now for investment in order countries and businesses

Blame subsidy today, blame BDCs, tomorrow, blame Binance next, and it continues. They think that serious investors will come to this country? They are the ones chasing investors away. I don't blame them. Most of them have only know largesse from politics and government. They have not really sourced for funds and start from scratch like a good number of businessmen.

Re: CBN Governor Cardoso Blames Naira’s Fall On ‘Demand Season’ by ufotunang: 10:09pm On May 23
He is saying the truth...the demand for dollars to travel to abroad to school in foreign universities, to travel for medical treatment abroad, hospital abroad, demand for dollars to buy foreign cars, SUV cars, foreign products ,goods, demand for dollars to import fuel disel kerosene we nigerians like foreign things too much so the demand for dollars to get this foreign things will be high and it will depreciate the naira and make it to lose value against the dollars.. nigeria is a consuming economy.. Nigeria has to be a producing economy..more exportation and less Importation.. and nigerians should value, buy, patronize what they have in their own country and then the Naira will appreciate and have value against the dollars... simple
