It's unaffordable for nigerians, due to bad economy which has affected the purchasing power

How?
Considering dollar to Naira rate, are we locally manufacturing any component use in electricity generation

You don't have to agree with the man but asking how after he explained clearly is bottom tier behaviour.

“But gradually, as we scale up in generation, transmission and distribution, these prices will also decrease. It’s a temporary hardship leading to a permanent gain,” Adelabu said.

In case you still don't understand, he is telling you that scarcity is the reason for the price hike.

This one is a dumb fuc k!
How can electricity tariff come down when you are fixing the tariff and unlike the GSM industry, where there are monopolies assigned to zones.
IKDC has an area exclusive to it,like BEDC,EEDC, etc.
GSM companies operated freely countrywide,so the competition brought down the prices.
If MTN had been assigned to North,Glo SW,Airtel SE and SS for example, phone and internet services would have remained poor and very extensive.
In short, this talk is very annoying,it's like an illiterate and not a federal minister talking!

Same thing they said when they first privatised the sector. Still power supply is erratic.
Mark my words, instead of the tariff to come down, they will extend by increasing tariff of the other bands. Bands B and C are next.

The minister should be allowed and giving the full support to do a thorough job in the power sector

If the minister approaches the power sector in an intelligent way, he will be supported. But definitely not this way.
