I don't think playing in the Europa league would prevent him featuring in the UCL. My doubts anyway, yet to confirm.

God bless you for researching, the Europa league and champions league have both gone past qualifying rounds, thus by the Rule book Paulista is ineligible to compete in the Champions League for Arsenal..
