No fewer than 30-armed thugs on Thursday the 24th of November stormed the private residence of Late Barr. Benjamin Erivona located at numbers 29A & B, Abeke Road, Sapele. Arriving the Late Barrister’s residence at about 9.30am in two Delta State Government House (DTGH) Toyota Hilux cars and three 18 seater Toyota buses with private registration numbers, pounced on the tenants around with death blows, invaded their houses and carted away with valuables worth millions of naira.
The investigation carried out revealed that the attack was lead by a top member of Gov. Uduaghan’s cabinet and a serving commissioner in the Delta State oil Producing Areas Development Commission, Mr. Michael Diden, popularly called EJELE. He was said to have forced his way into the residence and ordered his boys to beat up tenants and residents at the property. He (Ejele) claimed that he has the authority and the might of the Delta State Government behind him and nobody could stop him not even the governor himself.
Michael Diden (Ejele) and his thugs forced their way into the bedroom of the Late Barrister Erivona and carted away valuables including documents, several personal effects, corals and several other items.  EJELE was present all these while as he personally took charge of this operation as he ordered his gun totting thugs to bring out everything from the house. It was a total show of shame calculated to drive fear into the hearts and minds of local residents. From all indications, it would appear that this is not the first time that Ejele has carried this type of operation in Sapele town. Law enforcement agents are all powerless to stop this mad man including Governor Uduaghan himself. Several high-ranking Delta State politicians had in the past tried to prevail on Ejele with no joy.  Although Ejele had himself admitted to the Likes of Hon Daniel Reinaju that he knows what he was doing was wrong, nobody in the state would dare stop him if he decides he wants your property. It should be remembered that Ejele was one of the local thugs empowered by the former governor James Ibori who is presently incarcerated in wandsworth prison in London. Ejele should be stopped and must be stopped by all means necessary.
He went further to instruct the thugs to put the entire house under lock and key until the remaining tenants who had nowhere to go pleaded with him to allow them spend the night. He instructed the tenants to pay rents to him which he issued receipts for.
He also claims to have bought the property through an unknown means, which remains mysterious to everyone. Ejele is a well-known fraudster, a gangster and according to local residents head of the local death squad in Sapele. Involved with harassing local and state politicians on behalf of governor Uduaghan.
Sources close to the Erivona family reveal that EJELE had at different times issued death threats to the children of Late Barr. Erivona in a bid to scare them away from their father’s property, little did they know that he was planning a forceful take over.
Family sources also reveal that ever since the demise of their father, none of his property has been sold to any individual or group, and that the news came to them as a shock, wondering who sold what to him (EJELE) and where they got their papers from, if not forgery.
EJELE however, quickly sneaked out on arrival of pressmen. He spoke through some sources close to him that he is only using his state powers vested on him by his god-father (the governor) to forcefully obtain the property. Sources say that the governor is aware of his deeds and solidly behind him and this would not be the first time such and incidence would occur.
