the argument is not how many places these guys have bombed, does it matter if they are doing the bombing, when threats are made the sss does not differentiate from a actual threat to a money making scheme, it is all the same, imagine if these threats were not taken seriously but were in fact, real threats, these guys are terrorists, they are actually DOING the job of scaring the public, making the sss work over time because sss does not know which threats are real and which are just for extortion, as some of you have been arguing about they are ALSO scaring off investors etc. and these syndicates won't stop just like 419 they will continue capitalise

Compared to kidnapping and bombing, and drive by shooting, issuing threats is child-play.  Do you know the meaning of hoax?

yes i know what is a hoax, this is not a hoax, if you send them 2 million naira to avert the danger, they will not say 'keep the money, it is just a hoax', they will take it, and carry on to next targets
these threats cost the fg alot of money, scares off foreigners, civilians, keeps everyone on toes, wasn't the guy arrested with ndume, arrested for making THREATS?

Which criminal is scummier?

The one that does the bombing or the one that stretches resources, creates scares, potentially causes innocent people to be lynched and adds to the general feeling of insecurity?

In my opinion they are both as bad as each other - both are bastardising Nigeria.

Hmm what's new? Nigerians assigning their terrible image yet again on Igbo.  First it was an Igbo involved in the bomb making, now this.  What's next? An Igbo man bombed Abuja.  So predictable, the same occurrence happened with 419 until EFCC brought out the list and showed who the real culprits were, the same happened with the development of Nigeria until Nigeria brought out their facts, why should I be surprised with this news. I wonder what took them so long with Boko Haram.

JamesDoe: The article doesn't blame anybody in general but four syndicates specifically.

The syndicates identified include three that were led by Igbo men. That much is clear.

No zone is paradise. We are all suffering in Nigeria and a renegotiation of the Union is required, but all zones have bad elements within them. In this case, three Igbo led syndicated are using Boko Haram to make money. An interesting development, should we ignore it?
did the article say they made money?
