It's not advisable to plant Pepper to harvest during dry season in large scale.

Especially for farmers at South East and South West.

Dry season affects Pepper plant most especially plants at flowering and fruiting stage.

The Plant sheds most of it's flowers and leaves during the dry season in response to stress.

Also high humidity and high temperature creates an environment that increases water loss.

As survival mechanism the plant's will start shedding most of it's leaves and flowers to reduce water loss and conserve energy.

Which have start affecting your production and yield.

It also happens in Garden egg plants.

That's why most farmer's don't plant Garden Egg during dry season.

High humidity also affects pollination. The pollen grains becomes sticky and clumps together reducing their ability to transfer successfully to the flowers.

Which will reduce the yield.

Even if you want to plant for dry season and for festive period harvesting let it be on a small scale.

This doesn't affect farmers at the north because despite the high temperature they have a lower humidity especially during the dry season.

The dry air prevents excessive moisture build up which leads to excessive transpiration in the plant.

And makes the environment less stressful for the plant and allowing them retain it's leaves and flowers.

If you want to start nursery preparation for next season from December,January, February is good if you have source of water for irrigation.

I agree 50%. Since the cause of the stress is atmospheric heat, you could have preferred ideas and not say don't plant large scale in dry season. One of the solutions would be providing water twice the volume they take and more constantly so that they have much water and also conserve and this solves the heat problem and crop stress.
