A 22-year-old has paid a £45,000 premium to dodge the 18-month waiting list and secure the first Lamborghini Aventador in Saudi Arabia. Dhiaa al-Essa, grandson of an Arab Billionaire, spent £290,000 on the 700bhp beast, and had it flown in, weirdly, from Weston-Super-Mare.

This is because he bought it from Somerset based Shaun Williams, the man behind bestpricecarbuyers.com and an expert in sourcing rare and in-demand cars for a select list of wealthy clientele. Turning over £12million in the last year, he utilises close relationships with enthusiasts and speculators alike, to get his hands on some very precious metal.

The Aventador will join a collection of cars including Ferraris and Rolls-Royces, which the lucky nipper keeps in different locations around the world. Speaking on why he needed to be the first in the Saudi Kingdom to own an Aventador, he said: 'For me personally it is not a competition, I just love cars - and if you want to be first you have to work hard and pay more.'
