Hello, can anyone in the house give a suggestion to why a P3 PC will keep restarting itself when it is about to lounch DESKTOP after few seconds you switch it on ( that is when you format and install fresh Win 2000 or XP), but will run fine if Win Me or Win98se is installed? Please, your own guggestion too is needed. NOTE: I have tried another known good working RAM, checked for physical damage on the Mainboard, disconnected all expanaion cards and leave only VGA and power up the system, but still experiencing the same problem. Unless I install either Win98se or Win me. Though, I have not use another Power Supply to test it. So, pls, I will be lookong forward to hearing from u. |

Well from my own point of view i think the cd you used in installing the windows 2000 &windows xp is corrupt. So cross test the disks. |

Man, this is strange, Have u tried using other cds, culd it b ur hdd? |

As per whether win2000 or XP CD that I used may not be OK, I have tried different CDs. And even, the HDD I was using is a new one (20G), buuuuuuuut, of all troubleshooting I made, I didn't use any other HDD for the system except that new one (20G) I just bought for it because the HDD that came with the system was having "data read error". So, that was why I bought new 20G HDD and try to install new Windows on it before I started encountering all this. |
