Most of the outrage here isn't about the räpe, but the homösexual connotations of incident which is a shameful misplacement of priorities. If a male relation of mine was séxually assaulted, my shock and grief would be no different from a case where it was a female relation. It's sad seeing people here cracking homo jokes and making anti-gäy political points when they should be outraged at the defilement of a citizen.

There have always been laws on the books for criminal acts (assault, robbery, false imprisonment) such as that.  The "new" 14-year law will simply be another offense they can add to the charges.  That way, raising the possibility of the accused getting more jail time.
