"The journey of a thousand miles begins with a step that is taken" I just paraphrase that quote, I hope you got the message? ![]() This thread is basically my accountability thread where I will detail my DevOps + AI journey. AI because it's important we start thinking of how we can fuse AI into our workflows as engineers based on current demands. But for now I won't be posting anything till I am done with exams which will be starting this month. Seniors in the house especially in the DevOps space can contribute as well as beginners alike. Thank you and welcome. Cc: SKhanmi |

Automation, predictive analytics, and AI-driven monitoring are already reshaping DevOps, making processes more efficient and reducing downtime. I’ve been exploring AI transformation services https://kindgeek.com/ai_transformation_services and it’s fascinating how companies are leveraging AI to streamline operations. Looking forward to your updates! |

Exams will be over tomorrow. Next is SIWES(IT), which I will be starting next week, and most importantly, I will be getting back to learning DevOps soon. Cheers ![]() |

I started my DevOps tutorial today. I use Udemy, Youtube, and Roadmap.sh to learn. I still need to revisit my Linux cause I am rusty already and have forgotten some commands. |

Since I started my SIWES, I have not had enough time for myself. It has been back-to-back engagements with daily mechanical maintenance, repair, service, and overhauling of heavy-duty machines/engines. But this is not an excuse to develop my tech(DevOps) skills. I will continue my Linux learning this week and do some Linux projects. Enjoy your week. |

Nice thread i will suggest those of us that are new/beginner should colab while we self study at least for motivation especially once it comes to projects i am open for colab sha |

Good evening, house. I am still in my Linux phase of DevOps and have started the 30-days Linux challenge. I can't wait to move to another aspect. I still have some skills I want to learn, but SIWES is taking all of my time, leaving me with just a few hours I allocated to learning DevOps. |

Newusername:Regarding SIWES, in fact, it has been very interesting. I always look forward to going to work because I know I will learn something new and add to my knowledge. Indeed, the classroom and the industry are worlds apart. Thank God for the initiative to work at the Automobile workshop when I was in year 2, if not, how I go take dey understand all this earth-moving equipment and diesel engines working principles? One thing about engineering is that, once you understand the principle, you are set already. Na the application dey always different, but na still the same principle. |

SKhanmi:Good morning. I realised I couldn't comment on the thread again. I halted my DevOps journey because of my SIWES, I had to put my all in this SIWES and I thank God its paid off. I will continue my DevOps journey this week as I will soon be rounding up SIWES. Thank you for reaching out. |

Where are you now? |
| Re: Devops + AI: Learning To Earning by Nobody: 1:55pm On Aug 17, 2025 |
Just a little update. I did a foundation course in AI/ML via the AWS platform. In addition, I did "Introducing Generative AI with AWS" via Udacity. I did the above courses while I was away. Lastly, I did some soft skills training and am currently doing another one(Aspire Leadership Programme). My goal is to fuse AI into DevOps practices and ensure I am abreast of the latest technology. PS: I am currently on the GIT stage of my DevOps journey. |

| Re: Devops + AI: Learning To Earning by Nobody: 10:38pm On Aug 22, 2025 |
Good evening, house. This week I learnt Git, Github, the differences between localised, centralised Version Control System(VCS), and distributed VCS. In addition, I learnt about branching, rollback, SSH login, how to use git tags for semantic versioning, setting up GitHub Copilot, and lastly downloading git cheatsheet for a quick check, just in case I forget some commands. I will continue this weekend. In Bulaba's voice, "Enjoy your weekend". |
| Re: Devops + AI: Learning To Earning by Nobody: 5:36pm On Aug 23, 2025 |
I have decided to commit to GitHub daily from today. I will start with doing a few Linux scripting projects to advanced projects. So help me God(Amen). |

I used to notice "fi" being used when you're closing an if-else statement in Linux. The YouTube tutorial I was watching some minutes ago just made me go wow when he brought to my notice for "esac" when a switch-case statement is used. ***** Our senior men who were learning tech in their earlier days, how were you guys surviving before the "gbem/dollars" started rolling in? I have been attending interviews to teach coding and robotics, so I go fit see front most especially as my SIWES wan round up. Na person wey chop dey learn tech na. God help me. We go again this week. |
| Re: Devops + AI: Learning To Earning by Nobody: 12:57am On Aug 26, 2025 |
I have adopted project based learning for my DevOps. I have another interview this week. Man must survive and guide before school resume another session. |
