I believe, due to intercession, prayer and fastings of many saints. 31st night went successfully in many churches without disturbance even in the north . Glory to God!

We must continuously pray for security in our enviroment. Security forces can't do it successfully without the church,

Psalms 127:1
Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it:

except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain
.

1 Timothy 2:1-3
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour
;

Psalms 122:6
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:they shall prosper that love thee.

Jeremiah 29:7
7 And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.

Em, a Dec 31 bombing is only as bad as any day bombing - well, for those of us who don't set too much store by days or moons. Please tell those saints to CONTINUE the good work.

How do you know that it wasn't the intervention of Juju priests that prevented the bombings? Or more likely, that Boko Haram couldn't organize the resources to pull off another major bombing so soon after christmas? You christians need to learn to apply some reason to your posts. Being born again doesn't mean you have to say ret@rded things.

Also, as someone above already pointed out, a bombing today is no worse than a bombing on any other day. And Boko Haram still have 13 hours left.

We also "thank god" for all the bombing that occurred prior the 31st night, your blood-thirsty god seems to pick and choose who/who not to kill at his pleasure!

Permit me to slightly disagree. This is like saying that the assasination of the Austrian Arch-Duke in 1914 was no worse than any other assasination. In human terms of the value of every life, you are of course correct.

But methinks it is sensible to also note that the significance attached to certain crimes hold the potential to vastly escalate the import of the said crimes.

As it happens, the assaination of the Austrian Arch-Duke was the trigger for a nervous Europe to launch into the first world war - which led to millions of deaths - and it can also be said that the result of that war also set the scene for the second world war - many more millions of deaths.

In my view, a blast that occurs against churches, on eminently religious days such as xmas - or during a cross-over night church service, holds a greater potential to ignite ethno-religious tension of a kind that could trigger a wider crisis - even civil war - than a blast against a secular or less sensitive target For this reason I think that given the peculiar alignment of our polity, blasts against certain targets and on certain days could indeed be significantly more critical for our collective future.

Neverthelss, you are of course right that each and every blast on any given day is indeed deplorable. Personally I feel slightly releived because i sincerely expected to wake up to more bad news of cross-over night blasts.

Thank God? Why don't you thank the Nigerian security establishment? Or thank Boko Haram for limiting their attacks to religious celebrations? I also wonder if you blamed God for the previous bombings or did you blame his pastors for not having visions to help prevent the attacks.
Re: 31st Night, Thank God,No Bombing by plaetton: 5:43pm On Jan 01, 2012
Religion! What a madness.
While hordes of dememted and blood thirsty men of Boko Haram eanestly plot mass murder in the name of GOD, the christians now have another prayer point, another reason to pray harder for GOD to save from Boko Haram, another reason to THANK GOD each day that a bomb does not go off in a church.
OMG. We should be cursing those who brought these middle eastern lunatic religions to our shores.

NIGERIANS, PLEASE GET A BRAIN, PLEASE!!!!!

Having faith in God doesnt mean remaining foolish. Wth r we to thank God for?

Fear rules. It's so evident in our prayer points. THANK GOD for enlightenment from our atheist brothers on this forum. Else there would be a lot more bigots and church dummies on NL,

Lets pray to God to remove whatever reasons people are using to justify the bombings.

Its not supposed to be a way of life.

Whatever misery and miserableness that's providing fuel for some to let out via bombings, i pray for God to remove such in Jesus name.

They're using their religion to justify the bombings. Do you want God to delete himself? Or you want him to personally destroy rival religions?

@topic, They did not do wonders in Nigeria on this date, but in other part of the world they did bomb on this date. They just can't stop killing.

The first Islamic terror attack of 2012 took place a few minutes
after midnight, when fundamentalists threw a grenade into a
New Year's Eve party in Kenya.  Last year, more than 9,000
people were killed in the name of Allah in at least 57 countries

Islam's Latest Contributions to Peace
"Mohammed is God's apostle.  Those who follow him are ruthless
to the unbelievers but merciful to one another"  Quran 48:29

2012.01.01 (Dadaab, Kenya) - A refugee camp leader is shot to death by al-Qaeda-linked terrorists.
2012.01.01 (Bajaur, Pakistan) - Islamic bombers take out a 7-year-old boy.
2012.01.01 (Garissa, Kenya) - At least five are killed when fundamentalists throw a grenade onto the dance floor of a bar serving alcohol, then shoot those trying to flee.
2011.12.31 (Diyala, Iraq) - Five Iraqis are murdered in cold blood by al-Qaeda gunmen.
2011.12.31 (Karachi, Pakistan) - A Shia leader is gunned down by Religion of Peace rivals.
2011.12.31 (Khugakhel, Pakistan) - Two children bleed to death following a bomb blast outside the home of a tribal elder.
