Foreign Affairs Section Year-end Wrapup And Best Poster Of 2011 by isalegan2: 5:05pm On Jan 04, 2012
I am taking this opportunity to commend my personal choice for 2011 FOREIGN AFFAIRS POSTER OF THE YEAR 2011.

There was no official election in this section https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-825481.0.html, but. . .

CAP28.  You are my choice.

I thought we all could take this opportunity to mention the posts or threads that were most memorable or funniest or most meaningful, etc., to us.  You could also agree or disagree with my choice of Best Poster of 2011 and select your own.  Feel free to mention some worthy runners-up too. cool

You don't get a car or cash award, so no acrimony necessary. I would love to re-visit some of the discussions from last year, so feel free to give a summary or provide links to the ones you especially enjoy.

He makes good observations but some of his ideas that seek to explain reasons for the cause of his observations are closer to the realms of severe insanity

I actually didn't intend to force an election on us.  I simply wanted to reminisce over the past year and acknowledge posters that I feel contributed immensely to this section. cheesy

But if majority of people want an official (s)election, someone else can take over the reins.  You'll need to pick a date for end of nomination and simply count the results and declare from there.

Yeah i remember that, thanks again for your support.
i've more or less given up on the politics section because majority of the posters on there are not living in the real world.

not trying to toot my horn or anything but i remember warning many nairalanders about the coming recolonisation of africa and all i got was abuse.  All i heard constantly was "why are you always blaming the white man for your problems?" now it is crystal clear that this same white man that these dullards have been defending demanded for the removal of this fuel subsidy.

like you i've been in touch with my family back home and they are all  in shock over what GEJ and his bandwagon of criminals have done - we can only wait and see how this is going to play out.  Hopefully nigerians will refuse to accept this act of extreme callousness.

Kaduna Nzeogwu is my hero and i have remained fascinated by the extreme courage, intelligence and discipline that he showed during one of the most turbulent periods in our history.

Had he along with the other young majors succeeded with the January 66 coup, i beleive nigeria would by now have become an economic succcess story just as Libya was before the satanic invasion of NATO.

may his soul continue to rest in peace.

have you got the link for his thread?

how are you enjoying the fuel subsidy removal and how does it feel to be betrayed by your hero Sanusi? - remember i warned you about him a few months back. I told you that he takes his instructions from the IMF not the other way around - hope you've been reading his comments regarding this subsidy removal.

Hope you know Sanusi would never be where he is today if he were not collaborating with all of the international banking cartels.

He has spent the past couple of months lying to all of you about his stance on the devaluation of the naira - he only did this because the elections had not yet taken place, now that his fellow IMF agent GEJ has succeeded in fooling nigerians into voting him into office he can now revert back to his true position.

Isnt it about time you stopped allowing yourself to be bamboozled by these crooks?

ps - the devaluation of the naira is coming soon - so hope you've started tightening your belt.

You can't have a civil arguement with someone who has convinced himself that the IMF and World bank are secret imperious organizations that are bent on controlling world resources and forcing their economic policies down the throat of suffering massess of people via their puppets. Not possible!

You also cannot convince a closet socialist/marxist ideologue who masks his political and economic views under the guise of empathy for the suffering masses of his homeland while enjoying the lifestyles of the same economies he advocates against.  I am not going to bother bantering economic policies with you. Its a waste of valuable time.  I will however state my stance on the fuel subsidy issue:

1. I am in agreement with the macro economic implications that Nigeria will face down the line if it continues to subsidize consumption over production potentials. (The opposing arguement being there are no real subsidies being rendered to the people in the first place)

2. The IMF and World bank did not create good governance and corruption problems in Nigeria  which are the underlying issues fueling the subsidy  removal backlash

3. Government should not be in the business of building or maintaining refineries. They have shown time and time again that they are grossly inefficient and ineffective in managing any enterprise in Nigeria.

4. A step down approach to reducing fuel subsidies over a given period of time should have been the most ideal process given that on the other side of the arguement government has not demonstrated its ability to manage or implement structural policies that would create the enabling environment necessary to facilitate economic growth vis a vis power/electricity generation, oil refining and infrastruture to convince the populous of the benefits of their subsidy removal agenda.

It's unlikely that Cap will make his way back to his home country. He blames white people for making him leave his country but his destination is ironic. Hahahaha. Soon he will tells us that he is on an undercover mission to topple the whites on their own land.

cap28:

Is there any black run country in the world today that is not under the control of western international banking and corporate interests?

The one thing you have failed to understand is that every single african country is run by black african puppets who have been placed in power by white imperialist interests.

Nigeria is run and controlled by Shell bp, exxon mobil, chevron as well as the IMF and the world bank - the nigerian black puppet govt serves these interests not the interests of the people this is why people like myself had to leave.

grin

you are in for a very harsh awakening if you still havent figured out what the IMF and the world bank's motives are in africa.

i dont mask my views under the guise of marxism - infact i dont subscribe to any western political  ideology as none were designed for the economic or psychological empowerment of african peoples.

In response to your points:

1 where is the proof that the nigerian govt are actually subsidising petroleum products - General Buhari says that nigeria has never subsidised petrol and Professor Tam David West (former petroleum minister during buhari's tenure)  reiterated this is an interview in december last year so who do we beleive? I know who i beleive.

2 If the IMF didnt back corruption in nigeria - why was Buhari (who refused to implement SAP and borrow even more loans from the western banking cartels) removed and replaced with IBB who was known to the CIA as a drug baron?

Was it a coincidence that as soon as IBB assumed office the first thing he did was to borrow loans from the IMF and implement SAP?

Why was IBB allowed to remain in power for 8 years and why did drug trafficking and assassinations go through the roof during his tenure?

3 how come all four of nigeria's refineries were working during buhari's tenure?

4 during Buhari's tenure various economic proposals to encourage economic growth were put before western creditors by buhari's economic team but they were either ignored or blocked and replaced with the recommendation that nigeria implement SAP.

what has studying arabic in sudan got to do with being a western stooge - the saudi royal family, the qatar royal family and the entire arab league are western puppets
the saudi and qatari royal families are all aristocratic muslim families - i dont get where you are trying to go with that point.

I dont know if you know this but the elites nearly always work in collaboration with western capitalists - they do so because they have a common interest - to hold on to their wealth, power and status in society.

The Saudi royal family are america and britain's greatest arab ally - this is why their brutal regime remains untouched despite the so called arab spring going on throughout the middle east.

whether Sanusi likes to spend his spare time dressing up as Mao or Pol Pot of Cambodia is neither here nor there - the fact of the matter is that he is an agent of neo colonialism.  He lied to the nigerian people that the naira would not be devalued but is in the process of doing just that. by the way it is still possible to have two opposing ideological viewpoints at the same time after all China is still under communist rule but practices capitalist economic policies.

how do you propose that i start a communist revolution in a country blinded by tribalism, greed and corruption.  in order for a revolution to be successful there must be a strong sense of nationalism bonding majority of the populace together, it is very hard to engender nationalism amongst a divided people - this is what the great Nzeogwu discovered.

My points exactly. Continious commentary with no objective. In Cap 28's world, Africa is required to figure out what works best for it without any frame of reference (except of course for the one that pits it against any western ideology, philosophy or economics).

At least Boko haram has an objective. What's yours?

Let me guess. Your commentary is to inform us of evil empires that exist to destroy us and your mission is to emancipate the western educated slave minds of Africans (cause we are in too deep) and we will take hold of our destiny, rid ourselves of every thing "western", formulate completely new idealogies seperate from these foreign influences and chart the "African" course until we become equals in world affairs.

Right Cap. This coming from someone who dresses, lives, speaks and spends "Western"

All I hear is barking!!

africa figured out what was best for it a long time ago - In the 1980s african countries got together and drafted an economic plan entitled: the lagos plan of action for the economic development of africa:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lagos_Plan_of_Action

Sadly the western nations blocked all attempts by african nations to implement it.

So until we do away with western influence will we ever be able to implement plans that were formed 30 + years ago. While we are waiting for this great paradigm shift in the "african" way of doing things, others are not merely talking a good fight they are actually doing real on the ground work.
