Senators take home 14 Million Naira monthly.

It takes 1.4 Billion naira to maintain the NASS annually (Remember what Sanusi said about 25% of our GDP is used to feed people who only sit Tuesday – Thursday).

Our Governors exhibit such level of opulence shunned by the richest nations in the world

Our 2012 budget has a deficit component to it. We are supposed to borrow about 1.6 TRILLION NAIRA.

NASS will be paid from that! Aso Rock will use 1 Billion of it to eat! Aso Rock will use another 1 Billion to fuel generators.

The Vice President will use 58 Million Naira to buy newspapers.

The office of Patience Jonathan will use 500 Million to speak bad English to you.

We will spend close to 500 Billion on International Travels.

In 2012, some state governors will collect 100 Million as security votes MONTHLY.

They will continue to enjoy immunity clause!

Your hospitals will have no drugs.

Your schools will still have no quality to train a world class scholar

Your roads will still be death traps.

You will still be a local government unto yourself, providing water, security, power and social security!

You will still pay more for petroleum products.

You will pay toll in 2012 on federal interstate roads.

If you will like this to continue in 2012, then stay at home and enjoy power as provided by PHCN!

Which way Naija?

When i see so many fools here attacking  El-rufai or Bakare, it makes me just believe that Nigeria should continue to suffer the more. Why don'we just evaluate what they say before we start calling them fools. The simple reason subsidy went through the roof last year was because of GEJ election. someone is saying they should be quite like Buhari, for you information Buhari is not getting younger.
  Any government that does not have oppositions to their policies like  Nigerian is dead. Make we continue to dey fool ourselves, people that have the guts to say something, una dey want shut them or call them fools

On the contrary You may be wrong. there are two issues i see here. One personality and Purpose. bakare should draw his thin line between his personality and his purpose for his protest activism or politics as the case implies. But what i perceive here is a total leverage on an organised crowd which can Never be attained even in a politically rally or campaign. This was the aim of our gathering and Protest. But if you listen to Bakare and if you are sincere enough you would not Find all of this in his Utterances but Political gimmicks. Ask yourself this simple truth, Since when did Politicians started operating as Activists?

Senator Tokunbo has made valid points

his points are
1) Revert to 65naira first
2) De-monoplize the funstions of NNPC immediately (NNPC cant be the operator and regulator at the same time)
3) Make public the KPMG NNPC audit report and start prosecuting the indicted cabal
4) Cut the cost of governance by a significant rate
5) Invest seriously on basic amenities with the savings made from curbing corruption in the oil and gas sector
6) With these things in place, there can be systematic withdrawal of the subsidy
7) All over the world, succesful democracies run one form of democracy or the other , Nigeria can gradually move d subsidy from fuel to other forms

The economist has maintained that the foreign exchange role of the CBN should be de-monoploized which i consider very valid.
We sell our crude in US dollar, why should the CBN single handedly provide equivalent naira to the various ministries and states even for dollar expenditures. Because the states and ministries will go back to the open market to source the dollar equivalents at prices artificially manipulated by the CBN. If CBN provides allocations in equivalent dollars as needed, this will drive up the value of the naira as there will be less demand pressure on the US dollars.

As such the price of PMS in equivalent naira will drop as well as the imported products are purchased in dollars. At an improved naira rate, subsidy rate will be greatly minimised or even disappear depending on the strenght of the naira.

exactly. the problem with boyo's proposal is its technical nature and limited understanding on the role of foreign exchange in nigeria's oil sector. but in my own limited understand it is a quite sound.
it will (unfortunately) of course be glossed as it is very technical
