In political battles timing is everything. Not for the first time, one has to admire the sheer chutzpah of Mr Salmond.

In the autumn of 2014, following a summer in which Scotland will enjoy unprecedented presence on the world stage – the Commonwealth Games, Edinburgh's (Commonwealth-focused) Festivals, the Ryder Cup and the "Gathering" to coincide with the 700th anniversary of the battle of Bannockburn, where the English were famously sent back to think again – a cacophony of self-confidence will be ringing in all our ears.

No wonder the consistently outmanoeuvred Mr Cameron would like to pre-empt this and avoid the very real possibility that the more pragmatic considerations of self-rule will be reduced to whispers in a 'cauld' wind from the north.

We are not scotland neither are we UK

I wonder how some of you think

Do you not see the comparative advantage in Nigeria being ONE ?

why do you think likes of Ben Bruce, Ibeto, Coscharis, etc were able to make the best out of Nigeria

because of the market size etc

Scotland is set for a referendum in 2014 to be an independent country after 305 years as United Kingdom with England,Wales and Northern Ireland.
Nigeria should learn from UK and move to the next level because One Nigeria is not working after 50 years.

^^^Don't know where you got this map from Ezeagu, but it's a bit faulty: How come Igbo sections of Rivers State (like my place, Ndoni) are not in Biafra? And nothing is cast in stone yet until a referendum is carried out so the Ibibio/Efik/Annag can decide if they want to team up with their old Eastern Region allies; remain with Northern Nigeria( wink) or stay on their own. Also, how come kwara and parts of Kogi aren't with Oduduwa, with kwara standing on it's own??
