Protesters Burn Sokoto Council Office by aljharem(m): 2:37pm On Jan 15, 2012
By Abdallah el-Kurebe

As the anti-fuel subsidy removal entered its fifth day on Friday and in spite of the intensity of security around government buildings and other strategic places, some youths alleged to be members of opposition parties in Sokoto State took advantage of the protest to raze the Independent National Electoral Commission’s, INEC, office in Bodinga, the headquarters of Bodinga local government area.

When Sunday Vanguard visited Bodinga, about twenty kilometers from Sokoto metropolis around 4 p.m. on Friday, the INEC office was still in flames while some shops close to the office at the junction of Danchadi village road had caught fire.

Bodinga local government council chairman, Alhaji Buda Badau, condemned the attack, but said that calm had been restored in the town “following the deployment of policemen to safeguard lives and property while some were patrolling the town.”

Sokoto State police commissioner, Alhaji Baba Adisa Bolanta, confirmed the incident, saying investigation was still on to unravel the perpetrators.

Also, the INEC public relations officer in Sokoto, Alhaji Mohammed Musa, in a telephone conversation, said “All vital documents, electronics, printers, office furniture, batteries and generators were destroyed by the fire.”

Only the Northerners would over-do things. What is the point of burning the building?
Re: Protesters Burn Sokoto Council Office by hbabe(f): 3:20pm On Jan 15, 2012
Destruction of government properties is highly unnecessary in this struggle against corruption/fuel subsidy removal. This will only give more opportunity for our leaders to inflate the amount to be used in replacing the loss. Nigerians should learn how to speak out our anger/displeasure against government without helping in ruining our nation further.

This is just a snippet of d destructive mentality that has been enshrined in consciousness of average mallam by their retrogressive, callous, and destructive religion.People dat ar no better than what they ar taught in their various mosque. These vastly uneducated elements from the most mentally and intellectually backward part of d country may not even know what is as stake. What do u expect some one dat has been given licence to kill and destroy by their mentor. They always overdo things.Alj harem(member of haram),is a template.U can see how he open his buccal cavities to curse wit impunity whosoever opposes his view in nairaland.Thats in their blood stream:invectives, destruction, boko haram, killing, maiming, arson. At d end they wil go to aljana wit virgins assigned to them. What a celestial esctasy.Deluded mis guided nonentities.Go on to destroy properties.U ar fighting for fuel subsidy removal.Their backwardness is slowing down d development of d nation state.I keep on analysing d relevance of that part of d country in dis entity called nigeria. What a strange marriage wit 'bedwetters'.
