This won't be as strong of a solution as they think.

There's a lot of money in illegal immigration. And the illegal immigrant networks can do everything, including getting a real digital ID.

The other reality is that employers who prefer human trafficking to employment will look the other way. If they really want to stop this, they'll put those people in prison. Not a fine. Not a slap on the wrist. Prison time.

If they really, truly want to solve this "problem," they'll stop messing up other countries' economies. Almost no immigrant wants to go to UK/US/AU/CA. They're refugees of neocolonialism.

Except if there are very stiff penalties for employers who violate it. Not that they don’t have those penalties already.

I know one major problem is the world bank loan which is draining resources from interest payments. But is it their fault that our leaders are thieves and not able to use those loans judiciously.

Or exploitation of natural resources? Why can’t African add value to the natural resources and control price of final product?
Why must we blame others for self inflicted wounds?

It's a very risky thing though.
Once caught as an employer, you pay a fine of £60,000.
And I think other sanctions would likely follow.
Some employers even want you to come physically with your International Passport before you are hired despite having other documents in place.
