Our nation may be going to hell in a hand basket o.

The country home of the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe, in Ogbubagbene Community, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, was on Tuesday morning bombed by suspected armed robbers (Boko Haram  lipsrsealed ).

It was gathered that the riverside community was stormed by armed gunmen in the wee hours of Tuesday.
Residents of the town said they heard a loud explosion and felt the tremor from the explosion at about 12:45am.
Sources in the town nevertheless said only a tiny portion of the mansion was destroyed by the explosion, which was obviously carried out using Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

The Delta State Police Commissioner, Mr. Ibrahim Tsafe, who was briefed on the incident on Tuesday morning, hurriedly dashed to the riverside town with a number of detectives for instant information.
A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, hinted that the invaders apparently believed that they could hit a goldmine in the minister’s house, “saying everybody know that the minister is a big (wealthy) man so maybe the boys believe they will get a lot of hard currency from the house.”

It was however unclear if the hoodlum’s mission was successful or not although indigenes of the area told our correspondent that the house was ransacked and turned inside out by the hoodlums who successfully blew open the main gate to the house.

Reports of sporadic gunfire resulting from a clash with armed security men at the building and the attackers could not be independently confirmed.

Another source in the Ijaw community said the attack may not be unconnected with disaffection with the minister’s style of leadership, especially among angry Ijaw ex-militants, who have accused him and the Kingsley Kuku-led amnesty committee of neglect.

BH is the current major symptom of the failing state called Nigeria especially the failure of our educational system.

The country is going through chronic endemic violence and these bleep of security crises (Niger delta militant, kidnapping epidemic, epidemic of armed local militias, escalating armed robbery of individuals and financial institutions) is just the tip of the iceberg.

And the government solution to this is to buy more weapons

BH is just the latest addition to the crises and more will be added until our government fixes ALL our broken infrastructure with sound economic and educational policies.

Once upon a time, bandits laid ambush to their victims and robbed with machetes, knives and other sharp weapons.
Some years later this turned to locally made guns, rifles.
Later on we have AK47, and other assault rifles.
Now they attack with BOMBS and other explosive devices.

What do the future hold? Wont be surprised if armed robbers attack with helicopter gunships, air to surface missiles and fighter aircraft.

Its the Ijaw Christian chapter of Boko Haram. What, you didn't know they had an Ijaw Christian chapter? They've infiltrated everywhere. They are even among the ex-militants now. We have to stop criticizing and support GEJ more otherwise Nigeria will explode!

May God bless u my broda. . .same thing I keep hammering dat all these violence had been in d offing as a result of endemic corruption, infrastructural decay, poverty, lack of education/basics of life by successive govts. We r only reaping d seed dat was sown many years back.

More of this will happen to other corrupt politicians in Jesus name!
