"Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves." - 2 Corinthians 13:5

*THE PURE WORD*

Regular self-examination is essential for maintaining sexual purity. Like a pilot running through a pre-flight checklist, you need to regularly assess your spiritual condition and identify areas of vulnerability or compromise.

Self-examination involves asking honest questions: What areas of my thought life need attention? What relationships are creating sexual temptation? What media am I consuming that's affecting my purity? Are there patterns of compromise I'm ignoring? Am I keeping short accounts with God through confession and repentance?

This process should be regular—perhaps weekly or monthly—not just when you're aware of major problems. Regular examination helps you catch small issues before they become major failures.

Self-examination should also be biblical. Evaluate yourself against God's standards, not cultural norms or your own preferences. Ask what God's Word says about your thoughts, actions, and relationships.

This isn't meant to create anxiety or excessive introspection, but rather healthy awareness of your spiritual condition. Just as you wouldn't want to drive a car without checking its essential systems, you shouldn't navigate life without regularly assessing your spiritual health.

When self-examination reveals problems, respond with repentance and corrective action. Confession brings forgiveness, and changed behavior demonstrates genuine repentance. Don't just feel bad about what you discover—take steps to address it.

Consider journaling your self-examinations to track patterns over time. This can reveal progress you might otherwise miss and help identify recurring struggles that need special attention.

*Confession:*

I acknowledge that sex is a sacred act, designed by God for divine purposes. By His grace, I will honor and uphold its sanctity. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
