Good day and happy weekend to everyone out there. Please I need your advice on this. A friend of mine called me yesterday to suggest what he should buy for the man that got him a job.

He knew the man longtime ago. But he was employed by this good man into a government board. Though he was employed with his O level and his salary is the normal minimum wage of 85k.

Initially he planned to buy the man a goat but just last month he lost his granny and doesn’t have enough cash to buy the goat. What else should he buy for the man in appreciation for the job he got for him?

Please Tell him to wait till Christmas Eve so that he can buy a chicken and give to him.

I don’t think it’s too much . Besides, he’s going to continue earning till he retires. But his doesn’t have the cash now. Is there any thing else he can buy for him just to appreciate him?

A bottle of something he likes would be enough as a gift. If he doesn’t have the money now then he could save up and present the gift when he can afford it. To give his “destiny helper” a cheap gift could cause more friction than giving it later on when he could afford something befitting.

I think you could get him a nice bottle of perfume rather than alcohol. Alcohol will only destroy his health. A gift should be a blessing and last for a while so that the person can remember your kindness. Also a designer perfume costs a lot so just a bottle of perfume would be enough as a gift but if you add live chicken then you have gone above and beyond to show your appreciation.

Hopefully someone else can help with this answer because we’re in different countries so I don’t understand your currency and what perfumes are available where you are. I’m sure if you check IG there’s bound to be shops advertising their Xmas sales. This is the best season to get designer perfumes on sale.

He should just budget no more than 20K. With that amount, the list of what you can get is endless. Cologne, Christmas hamper, live chicken....just name it. Don't go overboard with your gift because even the man is aware that the salary is meagre.

His place of work seems easier and more convenient for the person receiving it. I’d give him a call and say I have something special to give you, when would be the best time to catch you at work? I think the present should be a surprise so don’t mention it until you hand it to him.
