@EXICON, sql will serve you well in any business that requires records(of customers\goods\services) storage, organization & processing, especially large amounts of records. basically any records driven\management business & there r lots of them including banks, telecoms, governments(local, state, federal), oil companies, supermarkets, importers\exporters, all govt agencies(police, army, customs, immigration, etc), schools\universities etc, the opportunities are limitless & if u r good at it, then the sky is ur limit. this might even inspire u to go into hardcore programming like php\c++\java etc but no rush at all as sql is very good starting point to make a good living.
