As the Boko Haram menace continues while government is yet to come up with an effective solution in containing their operations, I want to suggest to the government to place a bounty on each member of the group. A bounty is  a monetary reward given for the capture of a fugitive, terrorist or criminal, and this offer should be made to everybody except members of national security.

How it would work is for government to set up an anti-terrorism unit under the federal ministry of defence whose offices should be in every state with phone lines open 24 hours a day. With that, government should put a reward of N1,000-N5,000 for any information leading to the arrest of a member, an increase reward of N10,000-N50,000 for information leading to the discovery of one of their hide-outs, and a reward of N50,000-N100,000 for any information leading to the arrest of one of their leaders, and so on.

Any body with useful information can call one of the phone lines of the anti-terrorism unit, the unit would save the phone number of the caller and if the information given proves worthwhile, the unit will call the number to inform him of his reward and how to collect it.

A major factor to the success of this suggestion would lie in government sincerety to provide the fund and fullfillment of the reward promised. This would motivate people to join in the man-hunt for Boko Haram.
