Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), says it will be “very difficult” for any candidate to defeat President Bola Tinubu in the nation’s capital in the 2027 general election.

Speaking on Tuesday in Abuja after inspecting projects across satellite towns in the FCT, Wike said Tinubu’s administration has improved residents’ lives through massive infrastructure development, adding that they will vote for the president in 2027.

“It is very difficult for anybody to win an election in the FCT against Mr president,” the minister said.

Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) defeated Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 presidential election in the FCT.

Obi garnered 281,717 votes, while Tinubu polled 90,902 and Abubakar came third with 74,199 votes.

Wike said the Tinubu administration has expanded development beyond the city centre to rural and satellite communities.

“We were clearly told that there shouldn’t be over-concentration of development in the city, and we must go to the satellite towns. These communities are part of Abuja, and their lives must also change. You can see that the people are happy. When the people are happy, you have no choice but to be happy,” Wike said.

“Now, economic activities will improve, and their lives will change. People can now live in places like Kuje and get to work in the city within 25 minutes. That is the kind of impact we are talking about.”

Wike said communities in satellite towns, including Karu, Apo–Kashi and the Bwari–Kubwa corridor, are witnessing road projects on a scale they have not experienced before.

IF the decision to re elect Tinubu is really in the hands of Nigerians weytin difficult there BUT we know How rogue Tinubu & wike combo can never be next line to credible election

Without sentiments and emotions...I honestly don't think Peter Obi can score the votes he got in 2023 again.
It's not about FCT alone, I don't see him winning any state outside the South East.

The best chance was in 2023... unfortunately, Atiku and Obi fumbled it.

Even history is screaming it!

1. The "obidient momentum" was more in 2023
2. APC has only 21 state governors, and 64 senators in the Nation Assembly.
3. Tinubu was not yet president

But amid all these, Tinubu won

Now, The "Obi is coming" momentum is no more.

APC now has 31 state governors in their camp, with others openly declaring their support for PBAT. Also 84 senators out of 109 seats.

Tinubu's victory is certain except something miraculous happens, and it will only be the act of God.

..does Nigerians vote counts...a lot of manipulation of election results will be done in the collation counting centres..that is why APC does not want real time electronic transmission of election results
