French Police Subdue Riots Over Jobs Law by Odeku(m): 5:27pm On Mar 19, 2006
PARIS - Police loosed water cannons and tear gas on rioting students and activists rampaged through a McDonald's and attacked store fronts in the capital Saturday as demonstrations against a plan to relax job protections spread in a widening arc across France

so this Job thing is all over the world not just in the state and Nigeria.

It's too bad that youths prefer to start riot over job protection instead of thinking of how to create jobs themselves. Entrepreneurship should be thought in secondary school, and the government should take care not to stifle entrepreneurship by heavy taxation and inflexible labor laws.

Well seun I disagree on this note, I think the youth action is appropriate in this situation, there is nothing more frustrating than getting a college education with student loan hanging over your head and there is no job to compensate your for all the hard work, the government need a wake up call to focus on jobs creation and economy instead of supporting the war in Iraq

THe problem is with higher education. People spend 5 years learning stuff that's 95% irrelevant, and then when they come out they think they deserve to have jobs.

My belief is that if there aren't enough jobs to go around, then there must be some room for development in the society. There must be some jobs that should exist that don't exist because the companies that should create them have not been started. Youths need to be empowered to be masters of their own destiny. They should learn to create jobs themselves. GOvernment can only be a catalyst in this process and nothing more.
