Was l Wrong In Blocking Her? by Robertgreene1(op):
So l'm not a particular fan of bringing every relationship dilemma here. But let me just do it for once to catch the feel of it at least. So my girl knows too well that as a script writer, that l'm always busy working online throughout the day and that l normally chat with her towards the evening after work. But this early morning, she sent me some texts on WhatsApp, just the normal morning greeting stuff, nothing much. But l wasn't in the mood for chatting at all, cus l was still going through some severe Monday Morning Hangover(My fellow bros that love the green bottle can relate better here.) Besides, l was also preparing to start my working day, so l ignored her. So this afternoon, eight or nine hours after her texts, she started calling me on WhatsApp call, while l was working on a script for my main client. So l ignored the calls at first, but she kept calling and calling. So l was forced to send her a text on WhatsApp that l was working at the moment and will talk to her later. But she kept on calling and calling and even sent me a text that "this is my punishment for ignoring her since morning." That was the point l got a bit angry cus her persistent calls were interfering with my work, and l needed to fully concentrate on the script l was writing. And honestly, that was the whole point of my ignoring her chats, cus l really needed to focus on the script. Now, most people don't really know what it takes to succeed in script writing. I mean like, you need to concentrate 1000% on the script you're writing, cus any single mistake in grammar or tone or diction or any hole in the story, your client, who of course is a more experienced writer than you, will surely call you out on it later. And even if he/she doesn't catch the mistake, the editors higher up the channel's hierarchy, who are mostly Americans will definitely catch the mistake and call out your client, who of course will then turn up the heat on you. And you do have to spend extra time correcting the mistake. So l really needed to concentrate to avoid all that. So l texted her that she should better stop that nonsense else l block her. She kept calling and calling and even texted me "Oya block me na." And l knew too well that she's very headstrong, and wasn't ready to stop calling. So l blocked her. And she has never directly called me since then. So l know she's hurt already.
Now, this girl is just 22, and l'm 30. So she's definitely acting her age. But l honestly love her and l know she loves me too. But even at that, l still want to strongly pass that message across to her that "My Work Comes First Before Any Other Thing!" So l'm thinking about not unblocking her till after a week at most. But even at that, l still don't want to hurt her so much cus she just lost her Airport Attendant job last week and l know she needs me to be there for her at the moment. Besides, she was there for me two years ago when l was going through the most difficult period of my life. So l'm really in a kinda dilemma right now and needs some mature advice.

Update: l was planning to unblock her in the evening like most senior bros here adviced me. But she chatted me with her second line early this morning. So we've made up and we're good.
Thanks for all your mature advices. I really appreciate!

Re: Was l Wrong In Blocking Her? by helinues: 9:24pm On Sep 07
Can we turn the table around, put yourself in her position, how would you react if she ignores your message and call?

You probably have no idea what could be going through her head as you are not responding even for the fact that your phone was active

Just break up with her and start dating yourself, that is the solution to your kind of mentality. You refused to reply her messages in the morning, this would have taken you a few seconds to do. You still rejected her calls in the afternoon in the name of being busy. Won't you be worried if you were in her shoes? You are always busy but you still have time for the green bottles, just start dating yourself because if you date another person, wisdom demands that you create time, no matter how small to avoid issues like this. I just pity the girl for dating an egocentric person who uses work as an excuse to disguise it.

Re: Was l Wrong In Blocking Her? by gerizzim: 7:56am On Sep 08
you got it wrong youngman. Men are more logical Dan women. you said you are 8yrs older Dan her but you are not acting as the older here. the older shud be the one to de-escalate or manage a tense moment.

It's good you apologize to her but remba to swallow the consequence which is you looking stupid apologizing to dt gal when it's suppose to be the oda way round.

You fucking should have no business with any fucking relationship if you are still too immature to know how to balance work and your relationship.
You fucking lack the wisdom a man needs to keep a woman by his side. Just 2 minutes was fucking enough to fucking address her but you fucking turned a simple matter into a fucking chaotic mess.

You are the problem here...
Your girlfriend is constantly calling instead of you to pick her call and hear her out...
And she there for you for almost two years...
I well...

Nahh. We all know what we are doing and what we want.

There is no way a 20-second call to her could obstruct you from carrying out your daily task regardless of how busy you are.
Even Dangote being a billionaire still makes time for family and chicks.

You are either not attracted to her or love her as you claim or you're just a sadist.
There is nothing manly about this that you've done.

Na this game married people de play and start to cry for funeral because no one assured them of tomorrow.

Who told you you'll be alive today, come talk 3 days? Spend some time with morticians, funeral directors, or undertakers, your perspective to life will change.

a creative writer means you likely work more from home . you cnt say you work every single second, every min and every hour of the day to write. Or be wit ur pen or laptop writing scripts. Are you saying Inbtw ur tym you dnt av like 30secs to spare to communicate.

Dey deceive yasef..if call of contract or biz wen you don dey pursue for long enter ur fone dt moment, shey you no go pick the call?

Even electronic machine like pressing iron, stabilizer and inverter dey take small brk Inbtw before dem.pik up again while working.

It's good we take our job seriously bt side by side to dis thought is dt any tin called job you tink you do dt consumes the whole of ur tym without you having tym for urself just as d way you are painting the picture is not a job .

D problem in ur story is how u manage communication wit dt gal. not you saying "I take care of her". "I buy her data" , I do dis I do dat.

wait till wen you marry. you go buy heaven and Earth for woman thinking you are playing ur husband role nt knowing dt wat makes her much more happy is not wat you buy for her but your PRESENCE.
Re: Was l Wrong In Blocking Her? by Astonmartin(m): 2:07pm On Sep 08
You should've jejely told her that you are busy and will call back later in the day when you're done with work.
Or create a time scale schedule with her. Like me my girlfriend knows I'm always busy from 10AM till late in the evening when I'm back from work and free to use my phone. Do something similar like this and she will understand you and know the time you or not
