Research In Motion (RIM) has announced the new BlackBerry® Bold™ 9790 smartphone in Nigeria*. The BlackBerry Bold 9790 features a compact design and offers users a fully loaded, high performance smartphone with the dual benefits of a high-resolution touch display and a highly tactile keyboard.

With the BlackBerry 7 OS and a powerful 1 GHz processor, the BlackBerry Bold 9790 delivers fast, smooth performance for browsing the web, running apps, working with documents, and enjoying multimedia. It includes 8GB of onboard memory and an expandable memory card slot that supports up to 32 GB of additional storage.

BlackBerry 7 introduces an enhanced browser that provides a significantly faster, more fluid web browsing experience. It also offers optimised HTML5 performance for incredible gaming and video experiences. In addition, the popular universal search capability has been enhanced with support for voice-activated search, so users can simply speak to begin searching their device and the web for information.

The Regional Director for East, West and Central Africa at RIM, Waldi Wepener, said: “The BlackBerry Bold 9790 combines a fluid touch display with the iconic BlackBerry keyboard in an impressively slim and stylish design. It’s powered by the new BlackBerry 7 operating system and delivers a truly outstanding mix of communications, multimedia, productivity and social connectivity features. BlackBerry is very popular in Nigeria and we are excited to be expanding our portfolio of smartphones in this market.”

Bro, NOkia is fading, market share said so.(whether u believe it or not doesn't mean its not true. . . just a fact!)
don't get it twisted bro, if nokia was that strong as u think it is, phones like BB, iphone and Android would have never seen the light of day or had all the huge profits the are declaring.

I'm a nokia fan, trust me, i bought 2 nokia phones in the US here to show my loyalty, but they where to slow to catch up with the tech curve, what they were trying to do, iphone had already done it and BB did it like 3-4 years ago.

BB is going down,(u do know they changed their CEO cos of not meeting target) they dropped the ball somewhere and if they don't wake up fast, "the thing go over them".
Re: Rim Launches Blackberry 9790 In Nigeria by msb247(m): 1:29am On Feb 29, 2012
Hmmm see them criticizing BB as if they won't rush to get one if they had the money! I use 2 blackberries for what I can get out of them not because people are buying it. iPhones are too expensive and nokia sucks! I use one for my general calls (Pearl 3G) & the other (Bold 4) for only e-mail, chatting, etc and I must confess I'm a satisfied customer of RIM. I'm definitely going for the 9790 as a replacement for 9780 just the way i got 9780 in place of 9700 cheesy

The iPhone is expensive. Agreed. But no other phone has the best blend of hardware, software and plain reliability. None. Its operating system, the ios, has 60% of the market share, meaning app developers are wont to develop and release apps on the ios before making their offerings available on other platforms like Android. I used to have the same mindset, but soon as I saved up and snapped one up (a used 16GB iPhone 4) men, there's been no looking back. Goodthing b4, na money kill am.
