I started around 9 weeks. I think starting around the first trimester is the best just to keep track of everything. So she should start as soon as possible.
Keziehenry:
Pls, at what stage of pregnancy should my wife register for antenatal. Note, this is her first pregnancy.

FloraEC:

I registered in Govt and private but gave birth in a private hospital with my first. I was soo lazy to do that again with my second, I just registered at where I gave birth to my daughter.

She can register in both if she wants. Second trimester is also called honeymoon trimester for some oo

we are likely moving hence the options

hor=Splasshhh post=82433935]Hallo mommas!

I have been following this thread from page one since my Gf introduced me to it a month ago.
I have never commented but, all the stories here have been helpful.

Today, I am writing because I finally allowed it all to get to me today.

So, Last week (2019) Thursday, I was in a work meeting when I suddenly realised my pant was getting wet.
At first I thought, "am I urinating on masef"? After about 10mins, I took to the convenience, only to realise I was bleeding and I was stained.
Gosh!!!
I was really freaked out and then I started to speak to my God, my only absolution.

I quickly had a memory rush down the lane.

Last year (2018) August, I was about 8 weeks. I had had a very busy/stressful day at work and then I jumped into my momma's car for about 45mins to an hr trip back to my family home.

I often have abdominal cramps at intervals but my frn said not to worry, "it's implantation. It's the baby growing and so on.

So, that faithful Friday, I had these cramps come severally and fade away. My loss only came the next day, after I had slept almost half my Saturday, I woke up to notice blood.
It started gradually and then it got heavy with painful cramps.
To cut the story short, I was rushed to the hospital but all attempts to keep the baby was abortive.

To mention that this wasn't my greatest pain but, the pain I experienced in the theatre during evacuation was nothing I had ever felt in all my life.

Fast forward to last week (2019) Thursday.

So, I cried in the convenience, both with faith and fear and I spoke to God.
Please, may I not tell the same sad story again, Lord.

Funny, i felt nothing.
It was different.
No pains and no cramps.
I called hubby and quickly got to the nearest lab, only for the specialist to hand a -ve result to me again.

I felt a sharp pain in my heart.

I had stopped bleeding and there was no clot or heavy flow, I asked him, why this result

He tried to explain but when he noticed I was clouding, he quickly recommended that I see my doctor.

Hubby tried his best to comfort me and we silently went home.

I still felt strong that nothing was wrong and I went home, cried, prayed and pleaded God.
Yet, after several other confirmations, the resolution was another evacuation which I finally took the strength to do last Wednesday.
I was 11 weeks already, according to the doctor.

I did my best in my knowledge to ensure I didn't have a sad ending.

Rest
Eat
Folic acid
B complex
Duphoston

Yet, here I am feeling strong, faithful but sad.
Gone through another gruesome evacuation pains and stuck with antibiotics again.

Looking forward to the time when God will give me the child I had prayed for.
The seed that will stay.

Thank you Jesus.[/quote]

In this case, it's better to use both for antenatal then because I heard most hospitals will still collect the antenatal registration fees etc plus delivery fees if you delivered with them but didn't do antenatal with them. So what's the use? You go still pay them antenatal money. It's possible to deliver in any of them. It's your choice.

I doubt because we got a private card before thinking public and we were not told we'd pay that.

Then she should use both for antenatal. At least they should monitor the pregnancy with her, they'll need her medical history just in case.
.How? like pay for 2 ante natal? na so I get money?

You'll still pay for antenatal if she's going to deliver in private, so I heard
The choice is yours.

But if we do public but move to another public to deliver, what happens?

Dilemma is that we're likely to move before due date to another LG that may require 1-2hrs drive from where we current reside, hence the questions

Ohkay
I really don't know how that works, maybe you should find out if it's doable from the public Hosp she is registered presently

TheAgeOfTRUTH:
Please doctors in the house, l need you medical advice

My MC is usually between 27 and 34, but recently l missed my period and started experiencing some pregnancy symptoms. I ignored it because l am used to such feelings each time my period is approaching. The signs became consistent that l had to conduct a test using PTS at home. I saw a faint line and the normal test line, making it two line. I was skeptical about it because the line was very faint, and then on the 40th day after my LM, which was on Thursday, l started spotting, same thing on Friday but without pains. Then today being the 3rd day, the cramps came with full force and the spotting has turned to bleeding, but not heavily. I tested again today, just to be sure and the line seems to appear more visible than the last one, though not deep visible line. My fear now is that l don't not know if l am undergoing implantation or early miscarriage. I have scared since today, meanwhile l did not bleed in my 1st and 2nd preg. Pls help me

My sister the only person that can fully help you is a doctor. This is a thread for pregnant women who will just share experiences with you.

So please see a doctor immediately.

Yes, antenatal in general hospital is more fun than in private, save from the crowd
Used both general and private for my 1st, but finally delivered in private as it's covered my HMO.
Didn't have a bad experience at all in general as most people complain
Sticking to private this time around as I don't have strength to attend both antenatal.

I registered for both during my first pregnancy, I stopped using my private ANC cos I was satisfied with the Way we were handled at GH anc especially when we got to our 36th week, only the experienced and senior gynae were allowed to attend to us. Dont know how I did it, I didn't pay a dime for ANC there except for the registration fee and blood donation.

You don't have to pay for antenatal again at the private hospital just register and most likely they would want to re-run their own test,so just pay consultation fee once, have that sorted and continue your ANC where you are already having it

Deeply sorry about your loss. God will give you double for your loss..
I have seen someone with this kind of issue, if you take in again, pls register with a very good hospital, I think you have an incompetent cervix( don’t know if that is the medical terminology). You may need to have a cerclage done, so baby can stay till the end.
Not to worry, God is not asleep. Plenty of hugs and love.

Mamas I know people may judge me but I need to open up before I have high BP and depression,I want this baby , I dont want anything to happen to the baby. Since I got pregnant, the love for my dh has gone. Am thinking of divorce l. Or is it pregnancy?
I am a ftm and everything is strange.

Has anyone experienced this and it became better. I am thinking too much. I need someone to talk to me please.
It's normal to feel overwhelmed with all the changes pregnancy comes with, but not to the point of wanting a divorce from your hubby. Maybe there are previously ignored issues in your marriage that led you to this point. First time pregnancy is usually a time of joy for young couples. My advice, sit him down and let him know the areas he can be a better husband to you. This is a time to bond and create memories. Again i feel this issue goes beyond pregnancy hormones. Just try to work it out before it gets out of hand.
