Last week, my hubby reported me to my parents that I love taking cold drinks and they were very warned me to desist from it. As it is now, I don't have access to the freezer. During this MS stage, cold drinks have been my saving grace. I don't know how I will survive without cold water. I also noticed that too much fruits and vegetables purge me. The way I purged throughout the week was scary, i had to go for scan to be sure my baby is okay. Thank God, everything is fine.

Hi Guys,

I will appreciate some clarification from the experts or experienced.

My wife is currently pregnant with our second baby and will be due very soon.

The first child was delivered via CS in a private hospital. We got 3 diff reasons for CS from 3 diff Dr. in the same hospital. But at the point of labour when I was asked to sign the consent form, the reason was that labour was taking too long, she is now weak and may affect the baby if pushed further.

After delivery when I request for a report, the reason was that the pelvic was too small, and another Dr latter said the baby had the cord on the neck....That went.

Now we are expecting the second baby, and she is registered at the General Hospital and a diff Private hospital this time. She was asked to do CT pelvimetry scan which she did at Afriglobal. The report that came with the scan footage says her sacropubic diameter is inadequate. Her value is 11.1 and the reference value is 11.5

When the report was taken the hospital (private), she was told that she will have to go through a CS and she should decide on a date when its time.

The same report was then taken to the General Hosp, and she was told that the report may not be accurate that she will go through viginal delivery first, then they may now revert to CS if necessary.

Kindly help shed some light .

Its Morning Sickness that is making us quiet oo, I was even thinking week 12 will be better, vomiting is now getting serious and I'm always tired.

Fruits and vegetables purge me too. Seriously I am confused. What should I be eating to boost blood, the Dr. said that my pcv level is 9.0 that I should try and increase it. Pls I need advice mamas

Since your PCV and BP is Okay, you might have to increase your fluid intake. Dehydration can also cause headache for some people.

Thanks. First at 18weeks in my Dr's office scan but I decided I'll wait and use the report from a trained scan personnel, my Dr is a Fertility Specialist (OB/Gyn and an IVF Specialist).

I went for 20weeks Anomaly/Anatomy Scan at Afriglobal and it was same thing. They do the scan within 18weeks to 24weeks of pregnancy costs N15,100.

:othe same anomaly scan I did at 2500 naira in ABU teaching hospital here. Normal scan is 1000 to 1500

Am really surprised. But probably because they are private hospitals. I did fetal anomaly at 2500 here in ABUTH zaria. But I must confess it's worth it. The machines are sophisticated and each session takes like 30 minutes to detect baby organs etc with trained personnel

I also find it difficult to drink ordinary water, had to ask my doc about it and he gave me the go ahead to drink cold water. Drinking water is what's important whether cold or not

Happy Sunday everyone. Please I want to ask what could be the cause of frequent headache. I have been experiencing headache off and on since last week, even when I take a nap, it doesn't go away. I just woke up now and I'm still feeling headache. I complained to my doctor on Friday during antenatal but she didn't say anything. My PCV and blood pressure is okay and I'm not feeling sick, just the headache.

Take the PCV thing serious o, eat enough dark vegetables like “Ugwu/pumpkin leaf”, you can extract the water and drink with malt or milk 3 times a week. Eat cow liver , fish and sea foods cos they are rich in iron ...please take oranges too and fruits your body can tolerate. If you do these before the end of two weeks you will see a positive result

Sorry dear. Eat little frequently and rest more. I eat more of crackers biscuits and it helps. I also get tired easily. Our body is growing a new life so we need to accord it enough rest. I pray this week is better as MS is not easy to bear.

Thank you ma. You just put my mind at rest because I was scared that I have done damage to the baby's lungs. I will still reduce the cold water so that my husband can have peace of mind. Thank you for the eye opener.

What of blood tonic/supplements? Can't it boost PCV?

see my partner o lol i only take chilled water I can't stand lukewarm water my mil is a midwife she says there is nothing wrong with cold water that it is just a superstition she only told me to make sure I do it in moderation

I'm not a doctor o!! I believe that private hospitals avoid taking risks and look for the easiest/simplest way out of things, most likely to avoid being sued or having bad reputation.

General hospitals on the other hand are more of risk takers and will try until they have no choice but to take the CS route.

The decision lies in the hands of your wife, is she ready to be used as a form of Guinea pig? She should weigh the pros and cons and decide on what to do.

Hmmmm... I can't imagine how you're feeling right now. If they take cold water away from me, I can't survive it o. If I drink any water that is not cold, I'll vomit. They've been my saving grace since first trimester. I'm in third trimester now and baby is fine. I don't think there's anything wrong with cold water. My doctor also said it's fine. Although, my water are not usually iced cold. Just a little cold. You can beg them to allow you mix the cold water with warm one to reduce the coldness a bit.
