Aregbesola,Ooni, Sultan, Bayero, Others Renew Calls For Nigeria’s Unity *nigeria Can Be Great. by Ufeolorun(m): 1:43pm On Mar 12, 2012
By GBENGA OLARINOYE
OSOGBO—In the wake of a heated
debate on national unity with particular
reference to disagreement between
some northern elements and their
southern counterparts over derivation
and fiscal federalism, some traditional
rulers in the country including the
Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saa’ad
Abubakar and the the Ooni of Ife, Oba
Okunade Sijuwade, have advised
Nigerian leaders to drop all
impediments to national unity and work
together for the overall development of
the country and ensure cooperation
among the diverse ethnic groups.
Governor Rauf Aregbesola, who hosted
the eminent traditional rulers, the Emir
of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, the Emir of
Zauzau, Dr. Shehu Idris, and other
traditional rulers from the state, to a
reception at the Government House,
Osogbo, also added his voice to the call
saying, “Since there is no other country
we can call our own, Nigerians have a
duty to ensure the continued
cooperation of all entities for peace and
progress.”
The governor, who had been accused
of championing a secessionist agenda
because of his belief in regional
integration, said, “I want to seize
opportunity of this visit to call on all our
political leaders, spiritual leaders,
military leaders and traditional leaders
to drop whatever it is that is beclouding
our focus to build a virile, united,
country that we shall be proud of.
I commend the sacrifice and
commitment of these leaders. Nigeria
is a star in Africa. We all must rally
round that focus, that potential to
make it not just a mere big nation but a
nation that is big in population, big in
size and big charting a course for all
the black people of the world.”
Aregbesola commended the role of
traditional rulers in the country.
He said: “We can be great. Our
traditional rulers are already showing
us the path to greatness. Unity is the
basis of progress. Let all of us come
together and work towards the
progress, development and peace of
our nation. We have no other country
we can call our own Nigeria is ours.
And willy-nilly, we will be accountable
for what becomes of it. It is our desire
for our nation to be as great as other
nations that are great. And for the
greatness to happen there must be
stability. A major implication of this is
the fact that today; there are some
issues in the core of the North,
particularly Kano. So, if the Emir of
Kano would leave the instability there,
take the time to visit us here at this
moment, it is a major sacrifice that
must be recognised.”
Responding, the Emir of Zauzau, Dr.
Shehu Idris, said that for centuries,
traditional rulers had provided a way to
promote unity among the ethnic
communities in the country, stressing
that the unity of Nigeria was not
negotiable.

These guys should shut it already. As if they're not part of the problems we have in this country. Everybody is trying to play the saint.

A gathering of delusional fellows.

The sooner they realize that Nigeria is doomed to failure, the better.

Lol! People talking with both sides of their arses!

Aregbesola has been going around the place like an emperor with a couple of fools carrying Odua secessionist flags that are unknown to Nigeria. At the last meeting where he insulted Mimiko, he had his usual flags and his anthem was adopted as the Odua anthem. Now we can see that as usual, he is all gas.
The same goes to the core-Northern leaders who visited Aregbe's shrine. Just last week, we had the likes of Junaid Mohammed talking crap about how ready they were to leave (with Kwara, Kogi and all). Where is all the fire now?

I will advice ACN party to sieze their id!ocy. They cannot continue to play traitorous cards against their own people and the rest of the South. What do they hope to gain from an alliance with the core-Northern elite? Votes? Lolzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!! They should be certain that kids will not be allowed to vote in 2015 (in fact with boko haram pump'n, elections might not hold in the core-North come 2015).

ACN is heading the SW down a wretched path from which they might never recover.

Ogbeni razist,
Aregbe isn't a seccessionist ok!.why would he want Nigeria broken when Oodua republic is achievable within Nigeria,we can always enjoy the benefit of being Nigerians and also integrate our communities from Ogbomosho to Owoh-madeh.
What would an Oodua republic offer us that we can't get in Nigeria?
The republic is already there, present within this current contraption.

Then tell Aregbesola to burn his rusty flag and to stop chatting shiit.
Aside from that, he should stop sinking the SW with his foolish courting of the core-North that the entire Middle Belt and South have rejected; if not Oodua republic will become a prison that oppresses those who should be benefitting. There are easy ways to make indelible enemies, the easiest being to cosy up to opressors and parasites like a puzzy.

Dude, you are such a pathetic fool.
Is Ohaneze a governor or representative of a political party? Maybe you just can't tell the difference since that requires some intelligence.

Go graze with cows. Your mates ain't here.

You are a goat which is worse, an ordinary governor of a state or a whole social-cultural group.

You sir are da.ft. When did Aregbosola become a representative of ACN ? Goat or maybe you missed the Ooni part of the article.

Moreover, what do you expect Ooni to do ? Chase them away ? you think we are animals like you ?

You are ridiculous.

Lol! If you make it a habit to dine with the devil, why would you be surprised that saints do not invite you for lunch?
Let ACN assure us that they no longer stand with IBB/Tambuwal.

EVERYBODY NOTE:

It is the northern emirs that have left their "high thrones" to come to the West and meet the Ooni & Aregbesola.

I am not in support of whatever they said though.

But I am saying this now because some daf.t Igbos et al will appear in some other thread and start screaming: Yorubas are slaves of the north, Hausa asslickers,Hausa favor seekers and what have you.

Those Igbos have clearly avoided this thread (very wise of them) because they know it goes against their daf.t propaganda.

The other time, OBJ visited the family of the slain Boko Haram leader in Maiduguri to try to mediate and bring an end to the Boko Haram crisis. All the Igbos tucked their tails btwn their legs and kept mum. Yet, they will open their smelling mouths and say Yorubas are cowards.

How many Igbo/Southern leaders have ever "eaten as much liver" as to dare make such moves. Even the President can't.

I hope as many Igbos as spew such trash get to read this post. Anyway, most of those things are usually said out of envy.

Igbo's are the best deputies in Nigeria. From VP to Deputy Senate President to Deputy Speaker and always to a northerner, we can't but ask who the real slave of the north is?

I don't think a Yoruba has ever been deputy to a northerner. Its usually vice versa. And wherever it mistakenly happens, its the Yoruba that controls e.g Idi Agbon.
