Mark you guys that this is a South African multibillion company. That the controversy or wound between Nigeria and south Africa is not yet healed. They might be looking for a way to make huge cash and close down the company. |

ndidibabe: How does this relate to the topic? The fact that you are jobless enough to visit Dstv office on a Wednesday doesn't make others a fool! Well DSTV just gave your employed arse an ultimatum!! You either get your scrunny arse to their office and queue up, or submerge your decoder in a bucket of water. Either ways, your bitc'hing aint gonna change shit. For everyone customer DSTV loses, 10 more subscribers join the network. Hope you get the message. . . |

The upgrade can be done manually without necessarily taking it to their office. Press Menu from the remote control, scroll down to information, press upgrade, press manual upgrade and it will upgrade itself. It will take about ten to fifteen minutes. |

Okija_juju:I believe you are a DSTV staff trying to protect the interest of the company where youu manage to get your daily bread, at least. Don't worry, by the time you get sacked, you will get my own message. BTW, if you are not a DSTV staff, then you are a poo for coming up with those sentences. |

Hoping that someday American-owned DIRECTV comes in. That will automatically end the era of DSTV in Naija. Just imagine the tons of rich contents on the platform of DIRECTV. Enough of the SA people milking us to the bones. |

I have done the upgrade myself several time. I am just surprised that they are asking that one should bring the Smartcard to their office. Maybe the intended upgrade is different from we know.. |

[quote author=ajila03]What nonsence is wrong with their head?Is this they. way they do to their S Africans customers.I wonder why people still waste their hard earned naira to watch repeated programmes. I dont know whats wrong with these south african firms. MTN does the same thing creating useless plans. |

It will take about ten to fifteen minutes. i don't think the smart card upgrade is for every DSTV customers, actually it is for any customer that received the text msg for the said exercise. I learnt they want to phase out some set of smart cards, basically it is a swap of card ie they collect ur old card and give you another card. The upgrading you are talking about here is merely a new soft ware download....it is on on the decoder and not the smart card pls be guided. 1 Like |

Re: DSTV Is Taking Nigerians For Granted! by riches5k: 5:30pm On Mar 28, 2012 |
why dstv is upgrading ,is simply because there old smart card.work with strong decorder.and u can use 3 decorders with one smart .that is why they are gradually facing the old smart card away |
Re: DSTV Is Taking Nigerians For Granted! by ndidibabe(f): 5:36pm On Mar 28, 2012 |
Eagle75:Really! This 'swap excercise' should have lasted more than 3 days before disenganging users with older card. Thanks for the info, sir. |

We should expect more embarrassment from DSTV this year now that HiTV had finally switch off but one day God will see Nigeria through, My own account have been pending due to absence of my decoder number in their yeye system upgrading. |
Re: DSTV Is Taking Nigerians For Granted! by Eagle75: 5:36pm On Mar 28, 2012 |
ndidibabe: Thanks, Man. I have done the upgrade myself several time. I am just surprised that they are asking that one should bring the Smartcard to their office. Maybe the intended upgrade is different from we know.. Yeah you are right! it is a smart card swap, those that have kappa branded cards won't be affected by this upgrade, but those using the 990 model of decoder 4 sure........except if u've done a card swap b/4 now. |

Don't worry, by the time you get sacked, you will get my own message. BTW, if you are not a DSTV staff, then you are a poo for coming up with those sentences. #babyvoice Awww!! Did the juju man make ndidi baby cry!! Bad juju man, Bad juju man!! It dosent matter where I work or how I make my daily bread. The power to go or notto go remains firmly in your hands (the end-user). Infact, you have the right to pick up the phone and tell DSTV to shove it. But like I said earlier, your bitching aint gonna solve shit! DSTV reserves the right to ask all subscribers to come to their office within a set period of time for them to put a bugs bunny sticker on your decoder. Its their company and they can do what ever bloddy hell they please. There is a limit to consumer rights and this one desent fall under it. Now you and your band of cry babies should suck it up. You people are masters at crying and calling on the government for everything. DSTV pays their darn taxes and you cant stipulate to them how they run their company. This upgrade is for them to serve you better. If their service is shoddy, you complain, now they are trying to upgrade you and you are still bitc'hing. . . I cant get sacked honey!! Ana enwe obodo enwe. I sack people. If you cant afford transport to come to DSTV office to get your card upgraded then I suggest you go ask your neighbour to take you along whenever he/she/they is/are coming to do theirs. Now stop crying o.k baby!! I was only trying to make you act like a big girl. . . sowwie booboo. . . tickle tickle. . . |

ndidibabe: Really! This 'swap excercise' should have lasted more than 3 days before disenganging users with older card. Thanks for the info, sir.I'm sure the time will be extended, they really need your monthly subscription....the worse that could happen is that after the deadline ur system may be scrambled when u visit the DSTV office ur card will be swapped and ur system reset, no fears. |

Is it the upgrading that is annoying you? What about their programmes, they keep on repeating the same films year in year out, and customers keep paying for same films over and over again. They do whatever they like because we do not have a serious government. |
