Interesting news. Apparently a Linux vendor called Mandriva signed (and received payment) with the FG to supply schools with a customized Linux OS for 17,000 Intel Classmate PCs. Even though the machines were already being delivered, the company handling the deal for the Nigerian Goverment sent word to Mandriva that their Linux OS will be replaced by Windows XP. Surely, we will have to pay for the Windows OS as well. I don't think bribe would be needed. Could be the fact that a relationship with Bill's company may mean some thing to them than a relationship with mandrake would. |
