What is the passover and what do Christians mean by Easter?

The passover is celebrating Israel's deliverance from the harsh slavery of Egypt while Easter is celebrating our deliverance from the power of death.

An analogy might be drawn to our current calendar system. We use the term Sunday to refer to the day on which Christ rose from the dead with no hint of applying worship of the sun or its associated deities. Do you use the word Sunday? or worship on Sunday? If you do does that mean that you worship the Sun?

If the word Easter is troubling you then use the word Resurrection Day. Simples

Where did the word "Sunday" come from? Do you now worship the sun? or do you not use the word in reference of the day of the week? Try being consistent with your beliefs.

From the Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ to His earthly Ministry.

After seventy years of captivity, the Lord allowed His people to come back to the land of Israel. Only a small group chose to return, but they as well as Jews elsewhere, still lived under the rule of other nations . . .
