Chelsea are considering cancelling Radamel Falcao's loan spell in January to free up space in their squad for a new striker, sources have told ESPN FC.

ESPN FC revealed earlier this week that Chelsea were planning to bolster their attacking options when the transfer window reopens in January and had targeted a number of striker's including Bayer Leverkusen's Javier Hernandez and Valencia's Paco Alcacer.

Falcao, who joined Chelsea on a season-long loan from Monaco in the summer, has struggled to establish himself as a regular in Jose Mourinho's plans
