Finally! A good ideam I happen to be afsahion designer though havnt launched my line yet

A fashion designer, i have plans on a pret-a -porter line, something affordable for everyone, a mix of ankara and suitable materials. I have my shop which isn't ready yet, but its for my haute couture part, where customers would come in look at my sketches, look at catalogues, pick a style or get one sketched for them, sewn and picked up. Everyone in this business, the sky isn't even our limit.

These companies seem not genuine. How can a company with dealing of billion of dollars doesn't have website; US company for that matter. Is this not another avenue to syphon money. Let wait and see.

Though a science student i have always had a thing with fashion. Used to design shirts and trouser even d jean i wear. Sometimes i sale them after wearing it for d first time due to pressures from fellow student. At a time, I started commercializing it. Recall taking cultural events in contract, burial uniforms and weddings(made all d suits won by my lecturer and his men in suits on his wedding day). Even as a secularly employed guy, I still design and make cloths for myself and colleaque and their acquaintances. Makes me proud to stand uniquely in any occasion and beams with smile when poeple approach me to want to know my tailor/designer and i say am the one. used to like the surprises in their facial expressions. Wish i can give it fulltime!

Nice designs u have. And you are right, networking is prime in handling a successful fashion business.

This is lovely I wanted to post something like this, how did you guys do your market research (if any)? I'm held back with this part of the proforma.

I will also like to hear of the methods you guys use for retailing? Restocking? If any of you guys sell Nigerian designers and how well they do, and I will especially like to meet retailers in less urban areas . . . .need ideas on logistics and the lot.

I just started fashion designing and I'm lovin every minute of it. I actually trained for it 5 years ago but didn't practice and decided to go back into it this year.
