Good Day Dear friend

Due to the Power challenges we are having in this country, other alternatives green energy such as INVERTER are very costly to acquire, I think of an idea if individual can manage and generate their own power by means of Backyard Turbine System (BTS) , that will be of a good idea, but i don't know how practical this will be, because the system will need much pressure to pump the water in the provided water tank so as to drive and generate Electricity capable of powering a building of Three Bedroom Flat with average power consumption.

Please my question is can this be practically done or its just a waste of time
And what is your own idea to improve this

Interesting. So is this like some kind of positive feedback system? But how do you make the water travel back up to complete the positive feedback?

Energy can not be created or destroyed , Energy can only be converted from one form
to another (eg, electrical to mechanical using electric motor and visa-vasa using
alternator also having in mind conversion efficiency,
so in a nutshell that diagram will not work, if you calculate the conversion
efficiency you will see that the close loop analysis will expose a conversion
efficiency of not more than 50%,
10% to 15% loss on the belts and pully ,
15-20% loss on the alternator,
also the kinetic energy in the water will absolved at the turbine blades to drive
the alternator, so the will not have any energy to push up back to the over head
tank.

Just like the second speaker said, energy can neither be created or destroyed. it is a good idea if only the water is coming from a natural source like a river or dam.
That is the idea of a dam. If the water comes down the energy you need to take it up will make it a waste project.
Why not think of windmill.

pls wat of this fuelless generator stuff? Hw true and reliable is it? And can one use a solar panel with inverters or whatever to power a mini eatery wit like 3 two hp a/cs, 4 freezers and other less-heavy equipments? What wil it cost and Wil it be durable? Thanks.

@ dougivilla, if you want to power a house of like 3ACs of 2hp, 4 freezers, 15 lighting point and 2 TVs.
you will need like 10KVA pure sinewave inverter and 30pcs of 150AH/12v to run the system for 14hours
cost
10KVA pure sinewave inverter is around 1.2m
150AH/12V Battery GEL 43k
after that one you will need DC Cable and Connectors to connect your batteries together.
AC cable
Battery Cabinet for ur battery.

Guys I need help, working on a wind turbine as my final year project. I have run into some difficulties, mostly the motor to use for the turbine! Any ideas please??

pumping the water back to the tank is the problem. that might not be achievable.
