@Amhatu. Send me your email address. I will forward it to you.
@ dark-sider
It IS a normal 3d app but....
1 It is free (No cracks, patches, s.numbers required)
2 It is light (Less than 40 mb)
3 You can do your compositing within the software
4 It is open source.
5 You get tons of video tutorials free (even on the website)
.....and it goes on and on.
I used c4d for a while but decided to use freeware instead. I use blender for 3d and compositing, gimp for post-processing. It is just my choice to use freeware but there are better software out there.

Re: Setting Standards In 3d Animation In Nigeria by Amhatu(m): 7:36pm On Jan 10, 2013
@ ladanski(m), sorry but the nairaland email will not let me write you my message it keeps automating its on message.

I created a file space on my on site for you to upload it. Also due to problems in the past I rather not post my email in public on this forum due to spam and all sorts of problems.

Anyway I will just be live on the forum Today, Jan 10,2013 at current Abuja/Lagos Time 7:42 PM to 11:00PM.

If you read this message during this time please send me a private message live and hopefully I can respond and give you the info so you can send me the file. Or write back on this forum and tell me the time you will be available so I can come back on the forum at that time. Thanks

Scincerly,
Amhatu

@dark-sider
Landanski meant "competition" in a nice way. cheesy. The point is that one person's work should force others to improve on theirs. That is a healthy form of competition I support. I saw some of ur upcoming short film renders on another thread. Nice renders. Keep the flag flying.

Check out principles of character animation on 3dworldmag.com before you animate the character. That way, you get to avoid critics doing what they do best. Best of luck. cheesy

Re: Setting Standards In 3d Animation In Nigeria by Nobody: 9:38am On Feb 12, 2013
Yep. Some only teach basic modelling techniques, animating a bouncing ball and appling color (NOT texture) to an object. But when dem dey advertise, you go think say na James Cameron abi Spielberg dey run thinss. As they say, the empty drums make the loudest noise.

That is the problem we have in this country: mediocrity. Complacence and inability to muster enough zeal to push the limits of one's God-given talents. Most of these guys do one little inconsequential nonsense then start parading themselves as pros to the adulation of equally clueless admirers. Waiting for that day when real pros take over the Nigerian CG landscape.
